Game Description:With its vivid sense of 3D via vector graphics, phenomenal speed and control, gameplay variety and intensity across three difficulty levels, and revolutionary use of sound (including digitized voice samples), this early arcade game based on the X-Wing trench run finale of George Lucas' film, easily dominated arcades for years after its initial 1983 release. As Luke Skywalker, Star Wars challenged gamer pilots to face a wave of Tie-Fighters, then zoom down to the Death Star surface for a battle against cannon towers, and finally make a trench run while dodging Ties, blaster embankment fire and structural beams on the way towards the planet-sized weapon's one weak point.
