Women from All Walks of Life Vie for the Coveted Female Ninja Warrior Title in the “Women of Ninja Warrior” Tournament on G4

All-New Competition and “Behind the Scenes” Specials Premiere March 8 at 8 pm

LOS ANGELES, March 3, 2008 — If you thought the men of “Ninja Warrior” were tough, get ready for the ladies. The “Women of Ninja Warrior,” an all-female version of “Ninja Warrior,” returns to G4 on March 8 with four all-new episodes that give viewers a front row seat at the latest tournament. The action-packed evening begins with “Women of Ninja Warrior: Behind the Scenes,” giving viewers a rare opportunity to follow four contestants as they get special one-on-one training with some of the men of “Ninja Warrior,” view the newly redesigned course and meet some of the previous stars of “Women of Ninja Warrior.” Immediately following the special glimpse behind the scaffolding, G4 will premiere the “Women of Ninja Warrior” tournament comprised of four all-new episodes. Women from all walks of life will compete along-side top Olympians and amateur athletes in an attempt to pass the world’s ultimate test of physical ability. Competitors will be introduced in the first-ever “Women of Ninja Warrior: Behind the Scenes” specials, premiering at 8 pm ET/PT. They will then compete for the title in four all-new, half-hour episodes of “Women of Ninja Warrior,” from 9 to 11 pm ET/PT, only on G4.

“Ninja Warrior” tournaments feature extraordinary amateurs competing alongside world-class athletes from around the world. How will the women fare? The drama and tension will reign high as one hundred women compete in the seventh “Women of Ninja Warrior” tournament.

The evening will begin with two back-to-back behind the scenes specials, “Women of Ninja Warrior: The Road to Midoriyama” and Women of Ninja Warrior: All-Star Special,” introducing the competitors and “Ninja Warrior” All-Stars tasked with training them on how to beat the most diabolical course ever created.

The course constructed for this all-new “Women of Ninja Warrior” tournament will feature four complex stages with several all-new obstacles for competitors to tackle. In the competition, experienced veterans will be joined by a large group of newcomers from all over the world, including famous pop stars, award-winning athletes and three-time champion, Ayako Miyake, vying for a fourth title.

Acquired from the Tokyo Broadcasting System, the “Ninja Warrior” series has been a hit in Japan since 1997 under the title “Sasuke.”  In order to retain the series’ original character and energy, G4’s “Ninja Warrior” episodes are subtitled into English.
