'Gears of War 2' Last Day TV Spot

In the video below, Marcus Fenix and the boys of Delta Squad take a minute for themselves to "stop and smell the roses" in this TV spot for Gears of War 2.

With humanity in one of its darkest hours, could this be the "last day" they see the surface?  Gears of War 2 is a tactical third-person shooter from Epic Games exclusively for the Xbox 360. The game ships November 7th.

Best commercial ive seen, Mad world was great as well, but you can't beat the origonal of many things, everyone is going to say (most of the tmie) that the first of a game is better then the 2nd of a game, so mad world does hold that spot, but taking in this new atmosphere of gears, i think this video very well defines it.. :) awesome commercial,

(p.s.) you dont see bad ass commercials like this for Resistance 2 .. play'nstaygay 3way FTL

RROD needs to get a life.

No one cares which console is better or anything. Just appreciate how far we've come in the gaming industry and the fact that in this economy the industry is still going strong. Bashing another console will just kill the industry. If we just had a PS3 or an 360..that's a monopoly. We need all 3 of them. Drop it, acting like 12 year old's comparing there shoes. They both do what they need to do. Zomg no one cares kkthxbai.

Resistance 2 will not be better than Gears of war 2. I mean, I saw many Resistance 2 gameplay so far and all I can say is that I'm not impressed. Graphics looks like crap, explosions lame, I think the first Resistance will be better. The true PS3 FPS that did impressed me is Killzone 2.
Killzone 2 is so awesome. Wow!

it's the same trailer as the one for Gears 1. The "Bad World" trailer, it's just like it I love it. The Bad World trailer got me pumped for the game. And now this trailer is pumping me up too! I wish I was working full time hours right now. I would so buy it.

And let's not forget Fable 2 with 15 - 20hrs of main story and upwards of 100hrs of side/special missions, which many people have stated are indistinguishable from the main story, which keeps the gameplay feeling seemless.

And Deadspace, which could last up to 20+hrs, It took me 18.

How do you know it will be longer vertigo?

And don't give me that disc space crap because with Oblivion being 120 hr+, Fallout 3 100+, and Bioshock 25 - 30hr (it took me 26 and a half hrs.) I think we all now know that a DVD9 with the proper compression techniques applied during game dev. is capable of holding large amounts of data, therefore large games with top notch graphics, sound and smooth gameplay!

You're just beating a dead horse with that DVD9=small inferior games myth...

My thing is...

If you don't own the system to play the game... Why are you even here if you don't have anything nice to say.

R2 and GOW2 will BOTH be top sellers for there respected systems.

I don't own a PS3, but I respect the few PS3 owners out there that are Gamers. Not Fanboys.

Damn, that was one hell of a commercial, and that's from a PS3 only owner. As others have said, it gave me goosebumps.

And my two cents on the R2 v. GoW2 thing. I personally think we should be comparing Resistance to Halo. Their styles are much closer.

I think Cliffy B said they're won't be a PC version.

Resistance 2 won't look better than Gears 2. But that's not saying R2 won't look great. I think the only company that created an engine that can rival Gears graphics is Naughty Dog. Uncharted absolutely looks amazing.

So from this trailer, you can see the obvious:
-The game is rated M for Mature.
-Marcus stares into space thinking about donuts
-Cole is amazed at the sight of a flower.
-Dom longs for his wife.
-Marcus/Dom go underground to fight the locust.

I'm just writing this to let time pass by as I anxiously await the game's release.

please do not misunderstand me. I absolutely loved GOW. and the weapons are great. The lancer is by far my favorite weapon in any game ever made. but with such a great game, my greed wanted more. i have heard of a couple new weapons, i just hope EPIC has been keeping hidden many more

Just because a game doesn't throw 20 weapons at you doesn't mean it has a lack of weapons. You're again comparing this to Resistance, which is made by the guys that do Ratchet & Clank. You know, the guys KNOWN for filling a game with tons of great weapons.

This is just as silly as the 60 players vs. 10 players argument. Different games, people.

I agree that R2 is very much improved, especially graphics wise. this first one had a gray/blue hue. R2 looks very lush. but i have a feeling GOW2's story will be improved, with a couple new weapons.

but R2 will have a rediculous amount of awesome weapons, and R2's story will be amazing. GOW2 will be fun dude, but like i said, i hope they have more weapons than what has been shown so far.

again its hard to compare the two, i agree with Jdark that the games are completely different....but when it comes down to it, i am much more excited about R2!

Resistance 1 was a launch title like Perfect Dark Zero. Which one was better? Resistance 2 is much improved over the first launch title. Gears 2 looks just like Gears 1 with a flame thrower added to it. No improvements.

Resistance 2 will be better. Resistance 2 is 3 games in one. It has a single player campaign, a separate 8 man co-op mode, and a multi player with up to 60 players. I have the beta and it's all awesome. Gears is cool but it's campaign is only 5 hours long and the story was average at best with only 5 guns to play with. Resistance 2 is the clear winner here. Glad we cleared that up.

i amticipate that R2 will come with better graphics than gears2. yes, the first resistances graphics wernt exactly amazing but they have been much improved and made by the same people who made the newest Ratchet and clank which was a beautiful game.

Okay, since everybody is bringing it up, I just have to say please stop shoving "Gears" and "Resistance" into some rivalry. It happen with the first games and it's happening again. I as a 360 owner have Gears and my roommate, a PS3 owner, has "Resistance." I've played both games and they are each very good in their own right, but they are two completly different games. It's more than just one is an FPS and one is a TPS, but the pacing and presentation are different for both. Both games kicked ass and their respective sequels will probably do the same, but at the end of the day it will just come down to personal preference and which system you own, and nobody should put down a game just because it's on a system that you don't own.

i found myself only using the shotgun and machine gun in resistance. the stupid exploding pod gun was the worst thing ever though....well...that and the bullets that disappear after 60 feet.

Il tell u what, u know I own both systems, and i am more attached to playstations, but I will admit that I will get this game, and it will be very enjoyable. BUT....I am more excited for resistance than this. I am 10 times more excited for R2 because R2's story, weapons design are better than gow in my honest opinion
