'Spore' Space Phase Details

According to game blog Joystiq, the space levels of universe simulator Spore will take between 15 and 20 hours to complete and has an ending, a definite change from previous Maxis open-universe games. That's right, no matter what kind of society you build, your trip to the center of the Universe will end in one way. Hopefully not a title screen reading "The princess is in another castle."

Spore comes out on September 7th for the PC, Mac and iPhone.

Of course you can play on- Will Wright has commented on the fact that to see everything in the game it would take 60 years in real life.
