Bleszinski Wants Less Buttons on the Next Xbox
Posted By: Ty Colfax - Wednesday, July 09, 2008 11:57 AM

Epic Games Designer and Gears of War Mastermind, Cliff Bleszinski, said recently, "I hope if there's a new Xbox that there'll be fewer buttons on the controller." Never has the 33 year-old lifelong hardcore gamer sounder more old than in that moment.

Wisely, he elaborated saying: "I think you could do things with a built-in camera or a little motion sensitivity. You look at the Wii controller with less buttons - they added functionality by doing waggle. Not a lot of games use the waggle well, but Super Mario Galaxy for example uses it perfectly. Zak and Wiki uses it rather well."

So, did Nintendo hit on something with motion detection and how will this effect the controllers of the next generation of consoles? Are the dual analog sticks' days numbered? Only time and corporate espionage will tell.

'Brutal Legend' Not Appearing at E3
Posted By: Ty Colfax - Wednesday, July 09, 2008 10:14 AM

The new Vivendi game, Brutal Legend, will not be making any kind of appearance at this year's E3. The Jack Black-helmed rock and roll action effort is still in development and not in any danger of being squashed according to Vivendi dude Tim Schafer.

Schafer hinted that the merger between Activision and Blizzard, Vivendi's parent company, needs to be better sorted out before the game can be properly unveiled and promoted.

Brutal Legend will be out on Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3. There is no release date yet but they tell us December, 2008 is a safe bet.
