This guy is obviously not trust-worthy. He makes the claim that Coldplay stole his song and then gives no evidence to back up his claim. This is just like when that band claimed Metallica was suing them for plagiarism and lied. He is a lier.

now that i listen to the two
they kind of do sound the same
i wouldn't blame him for plagiarism
but...
when he was writing it he was thinking of a rhythm
and he thought of that type of rhythm
and it turned out to be this song

i love this guy man he looks like he cooks up meth in his trailer, lock up the cold medicine and matches kiddies. anyway I highly doubt coldplay stole anything and i think this guy just wanted some attention for his little band.

No doubt they are very similar in sound. Like it was said in the show Cold Play has admitted to plagiarism before. So it's a definite possibility. Either way I don't care for Cold Play's music enough to be disappointed by it.

It looks like Coldplay is familiar with plagiarism as music blog sweethomenashvile demonstrated, proofs in hand, that they entirely copied, title and picture, the artworks of Viva La Revolution, an album released in 1999 by Japanese rap band Dragon Ash...
But that's no all! This blog published a well-documented article exposing the political ambitions and manoeuvers of Brian Eno who produces Viva La Vida.

The whole thing is here, just in case:

I'm not sure why Creaky Boards or Cold Play should be worried about Nintendo coming after them... their stuff is noticeably different than the Zelda tune.

They should, however, be concerned about Joe Satriani suing both bands because their tunes sound exactly like the guitar melody in his song "If I Could Fly"... check it out... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v =1ofFw9DKu_I

If "The Loop" would have done their homework, they would have found the Joe Satriani comparison before posting the interview with Andrew, and expanded the show to include comparisons between all three. Let's see some complete journalistic research/reviews for a change instead of merely jumping on the bandwagon and generating more media hype.
