Time Warner hasn’t gotten where it is by making bad decisions and its actions seem to indicate that, popular as the Super Deluxe was, it wasn’t turning a profit (or enough of one to justify its existence).
Admittedly, that stuff is pretty cool, but to us a real man is one who can survive in the wild with only his wits and will.

That’s why we view Bear Grylls as sort of the ultimate dude. You’d agree if you ever saw an episode of the survival wilderness show, Man vs. Wild. We’ll chat with Grylls in today’s Loop and see what’s going on with the proto-man. Be there.

That's right, somehow, those LOL-videos of Hillary Clinton singing the national anthem to lumberjacks and John McCain kickboxing will decide the fate of the free world. It's a terrifying and invigorating thought, right?

We'll swim right into those thoughts tonight, only on The Loop.

However, if things continue to go the way they seem to be going, consumers may never again need to buy their entire movie collection all over because of a format change, nor will they have endure a lengthy format war.

With downloadable content, bigger HDDs and faster internet speeds becoming more common, physical media may become unnecessary in the near future. Will physical media become extinct?

We postulate it’s because the show manages to keep audiences hooked by creating more mysteries each episode than it answers, while some say it’s the fantastic acting of the ensemble cast that viewers find so appealing.

Whatever keeps people coming back, the bottom line is, the fans want more, much more and they’re going to get it. On today’s show we’ll interview the Executive Producers of the show, Carlton Cuse and Damon Lindelof about the future of Lost and the possibility of a movie.

Surely, you’ve had a slew of bright ideas in your lifetime that you’ve never done anything with. It’s a shame, but you’re not alone. It requires a motivated and (hopefully) brilliant mind to take something from concept to completion. Even after that, some inventions never see the light of day.

Thankfully, now there’s a convention for amateur inventors which allows them to showcase their masterworks to the world, Maker Faire.

Today’s guest more than likely felt the same way.

However, instead of transforming himself into a grizzled, muscular killing machine, Garth Jennings harnessed his affection for Rambo to create the comedy, Son of Rambow.

We’ll chat with the talented director about his new film and ask him what it was like to kind of live out the prepubescent dream of a lot of young moviegoers.
The cry for cleaner autos and alternative fuel has become a deafening roar, which has resulted in an increase in the production of hybrid cars like the Prius.

However, there is still more that could be done to make automobiles less harmful to the environment, such as making ethanol powered vehicles that produce no pollution. Currently, there are a slew of prototype eco-vehicles in the testing stages, but that doesn’t guarantee they’ll make it to production. In the coming years, will the automotive industry go completely “green?”

Hollywood is going anime crazy. There are a slew of live action anime adaptations in the works, such as the forthcoming Speed Racer, the rumored Ghost in the Shell and, unbelievably, Akira.

While fans of the source material may see this sudden interest in anime as long overdue, we all know that tinsel town operates in cycles or waves. Is this new trend in movie making just a passing fad? Furthermore, will these kinds of films resonate with mainstream audiences?

To answer those questions, we’ll welcome Film Editor for USA Today, Scott Bowles.

First, not everybody wants to play extended solos on their V-neck guitar. Some people want to drum like Danny Carey or sing like Maynard James Keenan and Rock Band allows them that luxury. Second, the downloadable content assures that, unlike Guitar Hero, you won’t have to wait for a whole new game to play more tracks from today’s hottest artists.

So, what’s the future of the Rock Band franchise? Will there be a sequel. If so, will there be new instruments? Will gamers finally get the cowbell they’ve been clamoring for?

To answer those questions and more we’ll welcome the C.E.O. of Harmonix Music Systems, Alex Rigopulos.

It’s doing everything it can to avoid being swallowed up by the tech giant, including trying to merge with AOL, engaging in a limited partnership with Google, making its influence known on Flickr and much more.

Yahoo’s efforts may yet save it from the house that Bill Gates built, but that remains to be seen. The question on everyone’s mind remains, who's going to end up with Yahoo?

The controversial figure has become famous for making filmic adaptations of videogames that have collectively not been well received by critics and the gaming community, such as House of the Dead, Alone in the Dark and BloodRayne.

Recently, he made a splash by openly condemning Hollywood’s lack of originality, slamming top name stars like George Clooney and proclaiming himself a genius. We cannot overstate it enough; for gamers and film fans alike, this is one Loop you will not want to miss!
In addition to traditional warfare, international conflicts have now made the leap to cyberspace. Countries (and terrorist groups) can now strike out against each other by targeting financial institutions and even military operations and that’s just for starters.

It’s a dangerous new way to take the fight to the enemy and the American military is not afraid to step onto the cyber battlefield. War will never be the same again.

To help us understand more about cyber-warfare, we’ll welcome the Director of the USC Center for Computer Systems Security and a Developer of the Kerberos Security System, B.
They honor the finest videos (and talent behind them) to grace the interwebs in a multitude of categories, such as “Best Viral Video,” “Best Use of Animation or Motion Graphics” and “Best Use of Video or Moving Image.”
Now, if the findings of one New York Times journalist are correct, blogging has become one of the most stress inducing professions in America.

Apparently, the deadlines and pressure of the gig cause as much mental strain as physical stress as almost any labor intensive occupation that you can imagine. Is this all a bunch of nonsense or is blogging as psychologically taxing as reported?

Apple shocked the world recently when it became the second biggest retailer of music, beating out Best Buy and then shortly after became the single largest music retailer by outdoing Walmart.

Now, MySpace wants to take Apple’s throne and the social networking site has teamed up the big boys in the music game, Sony, Universal and Warner, to achieve its goal.

It may sound improbable, but no more improbable than the idea that iTunes would eventually become the number one retailer of music. Will MySpace music overthrow iTunes?

The TV and internet have rivaled each other for the attention of consumers for over a decade. Now, thanks to a new service from TiVo, the two technologies are merging. TiVo has developed technology which enables subscribers to watch internet videos from YouTube and other sources on their TV.

It sounds like such a development would be a boon to the company, but it could just become the next Apple TV. Will TiVo succeed at bringing the internet to your television?

To answer that question, we’ll welcome the Vice President of Product Marketing for TiVo, Jim Denney.
