Watch the large version of this video

We’re living in a tech obsessed world. To not be aware of the latest technology is to welcome ridicule from your friends and peers. Is that what you want? Keep checking back here for new tech reviews three times a week and save yourself from ridicule.

Logitech Harmony One Remote

What You Need to Know

Programming is all done through software, and they've designed it pretty well

You tell it device, brand, and model number which you may not know off hand

There are over 5,000 brands, and the remote can learn controls through infrared if they don't have your brand

You then hook up your remote through USB and update it with all your changes similar to what you would do with an iPod and iTunes

Once you have those programmed, you can make activities involving all your devices

It's basically just a macro, so with one button you can get the remote to turn on your DVD player and TV, change your TV to the DVDs input, and then start playing

Once you start one of these, you have to keep the remote pointed at all your devices for awhile and sometimes they won't always pick up each command it's sending

You can adjust timing between actions, but the more devices you have means more room for error

It's a smooth piece of equipment

The buttons are big enough, and the backlight comes on when you pick it up

The touch screen is incredibly responsive, better than most touch screens we've used

It's really light and fits nicely in your hand

The harmony one requires a PC, but the features are limitless

If you want a lot of customization options, buy the Harmony One

Price

$250

Chris Gore introduces us to the new Playboy Playmate of the Year.

Plus, we get all blinged out on Attack This, take a look at an awesome universal remote on Gadget Pr0n, take a spin Around the Net, and get the news we need to know from Layla Kayleigh on The Daily Feed.

You wouldn't want to miss that, would you? We thought not. See you at 7PM ET.

Axiotron Modbook

What You Need to Know

They basically just ripped the keyboard and trackpad out of the Macbook and dropped in a Wacom tablet LCD

Axiotron has been recognized as an Apple premiere developer so these things are not just a crazy mod; they are readily available

It doesn't open up, so to do anything you have to use the pen

The pen itself works great, so you don't have much trouble mousing around

It's absolutely perfect for artists since it works exactly like a real tablet; drawing and sketching on a Mac is something a lot of graphics people would kill for

However, typing in anything is a huge progress killer; you have to use the touch keyboard which is a hassle

Handwriting recognition works, but it's not the best

It's still got all the normal ports and a DVD burner, plus it has built-in screen protection and GPS

They didn't have to sacrifice anything other than it being a little heavier and, of course, the keyboard

this is a one-of-a-kind product that would be indispensable for a Mac artist

Price

A Macbook with the exact same specs is $1,100, but this guy is $2,280; that's more than double the regular price for the tablet interface

Other than that, there's really no reason to buy one; they are incredibly cool to look at though

Get your gadget fix three times a week, every Monday, Wednesday and Friday right here on TheFeed. Today’s tech item is the Lenovo ThinkPad X300 Laptop. Find out if this portable PC’s right for you!

Lenovo ThinkPad X300 Laptop

What You Need to Know

The Macbook Air is 0.16 to 0.76” thick, and the X300 is only 0.73” thick

The Air weighs a bit lighter at 3.4 lbs while the X300is about 4 lbs.

Lenovo has almost matched the dimensions of the Air, and is even thinner at some points

The Thinkpad has always had a responsive keyboard, and this one is no different; it's very responsive, and it has an LED light

There's the the trademark red nubbin trackpoint as well as the trackpad, which is the only thing that could be a little bigger

The screen is not nearly as bright as the Air, although they are exactly the same size

3 USB ports

Stereo speakers

Ethernet port

VGA out

A, G, and N wireless and Bluetooth

No expansion card slot but built-in mobile broadband

GPS

DVD burner

It beats out all other competition except for the Air, which was a bit faster and had longer battery life

The X300 has a slightly slower processor, but other than that, the specs are exactly the same between the two laptops

Price

Here's the thing: the X300 comes standard with a 64 gig solid state drive at only $2,800; if you want the solid state on the Air, it'll cost you $3,100

If you can sacrifice solid state, buy the Air for $1800

If you need the best ultraportable, buy the X300

Are you a friend to the Earth? Then check out GCycle... it's G4's new initiative to try and get you to be a better person and recycle tech stuff!

Gadget Pr0n: Alienware Area-51 m15x Laptop

Get your gadget fix three times a week, every Monday, Wednesday and Friday right here on TheFeed. Today’s technological marvel is the Alienware Area-51 m15x Laptop. Here’s what Attack of the Show’s tech experts had to say about it…

Alienware Area-51 m15x Laptop

What You Need to Know

The case design has a much more subtle look, which i like.

Alienware has their command center which allows you to change all the lights to plenty of colors; this gives it a serious sense of style.

The touch sensitive buttons are convenient, but don't always work which can get annoying

The glossy silver finish is nice, but it does collect a lot of dirt and grime from gamer fingers

It's actually relatively thin and not too heavy

They offer expandable hard drives up to 320 gigs and a Blu-ray burner that you can swap out while the computer is on

It's nice to have these options, but you're paying at least $150 extra for it

It's probably just easier to buy a larger hard drive and not worry about it

It crushes the competition in processing tests like encoding and Photoshop; you actually will be able to play Crysis

Gaming is incredibly smooth; 15-20 frames per second on Crysis at 1280x960 with all high settings, which is incredible

Price

These start at $1,500, but one maxed out with all the best specs will cost you about $4,700

It can't hurt to customize something for about $2,500

This is definitely a reasonable price for arguably the best gaming laptop out there

If you need one, buy this

Get your gadget fix three times a week, every Monday, Thursday and Friday right here on TheFeed. Today’s technological marvel is the Nikon D60 Camera. Here’s what Attack of the Show’s Chris Hardwick had to say about it…

Nikon D60 Camera

What You Need to Know

The 10.2 megapixel D-60 shoots at up to 3 frames per second, comes with an 18 to 55 millimeter vibration reduction lens, and has a built-in flash

Weighing in at just over a pound, it’s Nikon’S smallest DSLR ever

Not only did Nikon improve the already intuitive controls to eliminate extra button pushes, but the 2.5” auto rotating LCD really makes it easy to navigate the menus

This camera powers-up super-fast and it’s ready to go; you click that on and you’re done

It does feel pretty light an it fits perfectly in your right hand; it’s totally compact and easy to use and it focuses fast

You have the option of shooting at up to ISO 3200

Lighting schemes are all over the map, but overall it focuses very fast

The camera can only do so much; you have to anticipate the action

The 3-area autofocus means you almost never have to dump a picture because it’s blurry

Price

If you want to make the jump from amateur to serious photographer, this camera, which retails for between $800 and $900, is the way to go

We’re living in a tech obsessed world. To not be aware of the latest technology is to welcome ridicule from your friends and peers. Is that what you want? Keep checking back here for new tech reviews three times a week and save yourself from ridicule.

GPS Snitch

What You Need to Know

It uses GPS technology along with GSM cell networks to gather all the data like location and speed, so this means you have to be in GSM cell phone coverage

You can also "arm" the Snitch so it has motion detection or a perimeter alert, and it will send emails or text messages when it moves

Send commands via your cell phone like turning it on or arming it

Everything is easily laid out and all the most used features are really simple

You can set up schedules to track, continuously get locations and set up alerts for your cell phone

It saves all your previous locations and alerts

It's a fun gadget, but it's also a great car theft solution

Price

$400 plus $30 activation fee, plus a monthly fee which can be up to $25 a month

At the end of the day, you're gonna pay about $450 to start, and about $700 after the first year

At it's cheapest, LoJack is about $900 a year

The Snitch is cheaper, but it doesn't necessarily always have coverage, and it might not repel thieves.

It's expensive for a toy, but it's an excellent tool.

If you're looking for an anti-theft device that's portable and easy to use, buy this. You won't be disappointed

Panasonic SD9 Camcorder

What You Need to Know

As comfortable to hold as the tiny Panasonic SD9 Camcorder we reviewed

Weighs just under a pound

Most of the buttons are large

LCD controls were a bit clumsy, but the joystick worked well
AV outs and SD card slot easily accessed

Records to both SD or SDHC card and built-in flash memory of 16 GB

12x zoom is optically stabilized and works pretty good

All the usual manual controls but manual focus uses the joystick which is sort of tough

Auto-focus isn't the quickest we've seen but still good

Mini HDMI out, we wish it was regular HDMI like JVC

We took some footage at Coachella over the weekend; normal light looks awesome, auto settings have vibrant colors and great exposure

Low light is grainy as usual, but the amount of detail even in little to no light is astounding

Image quality is better than the JVC Everio GZ MG255

Ease of use is not as good as the JVC Everio GZ MG255; you have to use canon's software to play your videos on your PC

No drag and drop because it's MTS format, which Windows Media Player doesn't recognize

If you want better image quality and memory flexibility, buy the Canon

If you want seamless integration, buy the JVC

Price

Find it online for $900-$1,000

Is your computer running a bit slow? Is that tiny hard drive not cutting it anymore? My friend, it’s time you upgraded! However, don’t rush out and buy the first computer you see. Get informed opinions about the latest in personal computing technology like the Asus Nova P22. It might just be the right comp for you.

Also, keep a look out for new tech reviews right here every Monday, Wednesday and Friday.

Asus Nova P22

What You Need to Know

They got quite a bit into a 4 pound box.

1.86 gigahertz Intel Core 2 Duo

1 GB of DDR2 RAM

160 GB hard drive

256 MB Intel graphics chip

4 USB ports

DVI out

Audio in and out plus a built-in speaker

Ethernet port

Bluetooth 2.0 with A2DP

Really easy to set up multiple Bluetooth devices

802.11-n Wi-Fi which is unique to any of the other mini desktops; again, very easy and stable and gives you lots of range

Ironically, the addition of Vista hurts it during iTunes encoding or other benchmarks because it only has 1 GB of RAM; Mac OSX or XP uses 1 GB; optimally while Vista is a memory hog

It's also tough to upgrade as you'd void the warranty if you wanted to install more RAM

On the plus side, it runs incredibly quiet and cool.

Asus has designed the Nova for expandable docking stations which are supposed have HDMI out for your TV, a better GPU for games, memory card reader for photos, stuff that enables you to transport the nova around to different rooms

These aren't available yet, so it just doesn't compare

Price

The Mac Mini is $100 cheaper for a slight decrease in specs, and the HP Slimline comes with a Blu-ray drive for $50 more

Bottom line: as long as the Asus docking stations don't exist, consider other mini desktop options

$900

Get your gadget fix three times a week, every Monday, Thursday and Friday right here on TheFeed. Today’s technological marvel is the Panasonic Lumix LZ10 Camera. Here’s what Attack of the Show’s Kevin Pereira had to say about it…

Panasonic Lumix LZ10 Camera

What You Need to Know

From the minute you pick it up, you know it's not going to be a cheap camera

A little bulky and kind of a strange form factor, but it has a sturdy all-metal design

Menus were really easy to navigate with the directional pad

2 or 3 different ways to get to the same menu option so nothing was confusing

There is the "intelligent auto" setting which detects the best scene mode, and "intelligent ISO" which reduces blur if your subject is moving

Both work well and produce good pictures, but it slows down your picture taking speed a bit

Lots of manual controls too like aperture and shutter priority, but no manual focus

It can detect up to 15 faces at once

It detects a face, draws a little box around him or her even when they are moving, and adjusts focus and exposure so you can get the best portrait possible
Low light pictures were a crap shoot; they blurred or were soft unless the flash hit just right

Normal to bright light pictures turned out great; plenty of detail and vivid colors

Price

If you have $200 and no more to spend on a digital camera, this is an excellent choice

If you can splurge on the extra $50, buy the Canon Powershot SD1100

Everyone seems to have an iPod of some sort, but they’re not the only personal media players on the market. For example, there’s the iRiver E100. It might just be the right mobile media device for you, but there’s only one way to find out, watch our review. Also, keep your eyes peeled every Monday, Wednesday and Friday for more reviews of the latest and greatest tech.

iRiver E100

What You Need to Know

It feels sort of plasticy and cheap

It's easy to use at first, but once you get into each feature the right and left buttons turn in to up and down, and sometimes you have no idea what to press

The buttons become very illogical and frustrating

Plays most any format of music, video, or photos (slideshow is painfully slow) and you can read text files

Has a built-in speaker but it's not very loud

Micro-SD card slot

Record from FM radio, line-in or mic

It's easier to transfer files to than iTunes, but not by much.

All you do is just drag and drop to the corresponding folder, except for video

We had to convert video files through their bundled software because the player wouldn't recognize it otherwise

Price

A 16 GB Creative Zen player is only $175 online; there aren't as many features as the iRiver, but it feels like a better player

You do get a lot of features for the price, but iRiver just needs to upgrade their interface, or even go back to the old one

$109 for the 4 gig and $159 for the 8 gig

Gadget Pr0n

Get your gadget fix three times a week, every Monday, Thursday and Friday right here on Attack of the Blog. Today’s technological marvel is the Sony CT100 Sound System. Here’s what Attack of the Show’s Kevin Pereira had to say about it…

What You Need to Know

Sony has the S-Force Pro front surround engine

Using all digital sound processing, it generates rear sound from the two front speakers

You don't need to position it a certain way or have it bounce off walls

It's not as good as actually having speakers behind you, but this virtual surround really does work

3 digital optical 5.1 inputs

Left and right composite and a coax

3 HDMIs

1 HDMI out for your TV

This means you have to have an HDTV with an HDMI input in order to get sound from this

But the amount of inputs is more than enough, and they are all future proof so you'll have the best audio

Setup

Step 1: take the center channel speaker cable and plug it in to back of subwoofer

Step 2: plug in your DVD player to the back

Step 3: sit down and watch movie

This is the easiest set up you will ever have for a 3.1 surround sound system

The set up and input choice alone are almost worth the price, and the audio is incredibly good. The main channel was a little lacking in depth, but bass and treble sounded excellent

Price

You can get a true 5.1 home theater system for $400, but speaker wire is everywhere

When you can find this for $250, this is the best buy you can make on a compact system

Challenge to Sony: make it $200

Garmin Colorado 400t GPS

The rock and roller input wheel at the top is easily reached by your thumb

The two shoulder buttons are for other options

You'll be using it a lot because of all the menus and submenus to get through

It's solid, but the gorgeous 3” screen feels like such a waste because you can't touch it

It is waterproof though

Topographic maps with 3D view

Paperless geocaching (GPS treasure hunt) so you can mark your own waypoints and send them to other Colorado users wirelessly; you can also download geocache points directly to this GPS

Hunting and fishing predictions, tide info, compass, trail directions

You can track a route to millions of different points of interest by road, trail, or a straight point

Maps are incredibly detailed and easy to read whether you're in a big city or on the trail

Switch between car and outdoor navigation with profiles, which are easily the coolest part of this device

Recreational, marine, auto, geocaching, etc., or you can just make and customize your own

This is an all-encompassing GPS; it does pretty much everything you'd want a navigation unit to do

If you need the best for an exorbitant price, buy this

$500

Olympus E-3 DSLR

Rubber grip makes it comfortable

Only weighs about 2 lbs. So you won't get tired of holding it for a marathon session

LCD swivels for more flexible shooting

The body is dust, weather, and splash proof

Some of the menus are tough to get around in

There are so many options that it can be intimidating

The super control panel is helpful though since it has the most popular settings all on one screen

All the direct access controls also appear in the viewfinder

It's rated at about 5 frames a second which is about a mid-range speed for cameras of this price

It's so fast that it really doesn't make a difference unless you're comparing it directly against another camera

10 megapixel sensor

Colors looked great, even at automatic settings

Autofocus is incredibly fast

It only goes to ISO 3200, but that appears to help the amount of noise in its pictures. There is very little even at that high ISO setting

It's made for the person who is upgrading from their entry-level DSLR to a professional system; this is basically entry-level pro.

You'd have to pay almost $4000 to get a comparable camera with all of these features.

Olympus put up an excellent camera for a great price in the market

$1700 for just the body

Are you a friend to the Earth? Then check out GCycle... it's G4's new initiative to try and get you to be a better person and recycle tech stuff!

JVC HD6 Camcorder

It's comfortable to hold and not too heavy

The strap is a little lower than we'd like

If you adjusted the camera in your hand, sometimes it would automatically turn off because of drop protection

Everything is pretty centrally located.

Most of the buttons are at your thumb and all easy to reach

The rest are inside the LCD

The joystick is accurate and simple to use

Manual, focus assist, and menu buttons are there as well

Essentially everything like white balance, scene select, aperture, focus, etc. Is all part of the joystick

There is a feature called focus assist which turns the image to black and white and then applies color to all areas in focus

You'll be using this quite a bit because the auto focus is too slow

We shot some behind the scenes footage of us being awesome

Normal light looks great. Colors are warm and not grainy; very little adjustment out of the box.

Low light is sketchy at best. The LCD misrepresents how bright your footage is, so you don't know how dark it really is

Overall, image quality is really good, especially since you can watch is in 1080p directly from HDMI

$1,100 a lot of money, but you get a lot

The hard drive is big enough (120GB) to get 10 hours of full HD; you're boned if you drop it in water and didn't back it up though

Records to Micro-SD too

Drag and drop video files (Mpeg-2 ts) that play in Windows Media

All around great camcorder

Gadget Pr0n

Watch the large version of this video

Are you a friend to the Earth? Then check out GCycle... it's G4's new initiative to try and get you to be a better person and recycle tech stuff!

Sony T300

You usually have to give it a good tap or two to make the touch screen do anything

Not nearly as sensitive as the iPhone

It's nice to have every part of the screen touchable, meaning you can change settings through the menu or with one tap

The menus are convoluted and sometimes tough to determine which setting is where

There isn't much room for your fingers since the entire back is the screen

Your thumb gets in the shot a lot

However, the 5x zoom rocker is great on the corner, and only two buttons (image mode and power) are convenient

Press the shutter button once to make the camera start detecting a smile

A little progress bar tells you how much it's finding one, and it snaps the picture at just the right time

Works almost perfect, and even for multiple faces

It's definitely not the best image quality we've seen

Normal light photos had a softer look around edges, maybe to hide pixelation

Noise was prevalent in any light

16x 9 looked good, but we were disappointed in general quality

This camera has most point and shoots beat on features: in-camera editing, great image stabilization and smile detection, and fast picture taking are huge advantages.

If only it had a better lens, we could justify the money spent; $300 and we're sold, but it retails for $380

Gadget Pr0n

It's a lot more refined than the Blackjack Two

Weighs about 4 ounces and it's 0.4” thick, 2.3” wide, making it much slimmer

Nice soft grip with finger ridge

Incredibly comfortable phone to hold and talk on

At first, the keyboard buttons make you feel like you're going overlap a lot

The keys have a pointed edge unique to this phone that really give you a tactile feel

You very rarely make mistakes

One of the best smartphone keyboards we've used

The directional pad is accurate

The buttons you press a lot are big and easily accessible

It even has the old timey scroll wheel on the side, which we really like

1.3 megapixel camera with a ton of options

Windows Mobile 6 including Outlook and Internet Explorer

EVDO, so Sprint TV and internet was really fast

RSS reader

You can switch between CDMA here in the states or GSM in the rest of the world, and it's unlocked for international sim cards

No GPS or Wi-Fi

They lack cool phones, but this one is an extremely solid device

Might just be the best phone Sprint has

$200 with a contract; it’s definitely worth it

Gadget Pr0n

Smartparts SP8PRT Picture Frame

All your photos are displayed on the frame through USB thumb drive, SD, XD, MMC, or memory stick

You can copy any of these photos onto the 128 megabytes of built-in memory

All you do is drop in your memory card

It automatically detects which memory has been plugged in

Select that memory and it starts a slide show for you

It would be cool if you could print a picture directly from a slide show, but you have to exit out and select the picture you want printed

Press print

Each cartridge contains 36 4x 6 glossies and ink, which isn't that many; $20 for a refill

This is a product that couldn't be any easier

All the buttons on the frame are also on the remote control and they're self explanatory

You can change slideshow effects, copy files, set favorites, and adjust the screen from one menu

You can also play movies or music, but they have to be WMA or AVI

Once you've picked your memory slot, a slideshow will automatically start and integrate music

It's certainly close to being worth the $260 retail price, maybe more like 200 dollars

Sometimes it would waste a piece of paper trying to print to an unsupported format, and we wish it would recognize more files

All in all, this will be a real hit with the folks; it's a great gift if you have the money

Are you a friend to the Earth? Then check out GCycle... it's G4's new initiative to try and get you to be a better person and recycle tech stuff!

Fyre TV

Basically the Fyre TV connects to your TV, and supplies you with a multitude of adult content using your home broadband connection. To make things easy for you to find, you can search for movies based using a variety of specific search terms

You can also use the Fyre TV to search by title, performer, and scene types

You can start your little slice of cinematic heaven from the beginning, or if you are the kinda guy who doesn't appreciate all the fine acting these films feature, you can select a specific scene by using the scene breakdown menu

You can fast forward and rewind to find exactly the content you want, then you can create playlists and save your favorites

They offer a pay as you go format, but i really think the device needs a flat fee pay plan so you can watch all the content you want to without going absolutely broke. Otherwise, if you're a bit of a perv and you got a few extra bucks laying around, this is a pretty good buy
