It's official: The Avengers 2 has a date you can mark on your calendars. Now, fans can be damned well sure that Marvel's movie mega-team will avenge the box-office on May 1, 2015.
With the news confirming last week's rumor, the sequel will enjoy a three-year gap from the first film, during which, the landscape of Marvel movies will have changed drastically with Iron Man 3 (May 3, 2013), Thor: The Dark World (November 8, 2013), and Captain America: The Winter Soldier (April 4, 2014) -- Not to mention The Guardians of the Galaxy sometime in 2014 and the film debut of signature Avengers member, Ant-Man.
With director, Joss Whedon locked-in, you can bet that this sequel to the nearly $1.5 billion-grossing powerhouse is going to redefine the already redefined expectations for comic book films.
It looks like 2015 is the year the team defends the Earth and the cosmos against a power-hungry Mad Titan named Thanos, who, like Michael Jackson, appreciates wearing a single sparkly glove.
