Director, Ridley Scott's upcoming "sort of" prequel to the Alien franchise, Prometheus has begun a viral campaign that sheds a bit of light on what little we know of this "Space Jockey" sci-fi epic.
If you're a big fan of smug speeches about the progress of man, full of self-fascination and complacency, then this will be a quite a treat for you.
Guy Pearce appears as a God-complex-stricken character, Peter Weyland (as in the Weyland-Yutani Corporation from the Alien films) and pretty much sets up just about everything that's destined to go wrong in the universe for generations to come.
In the immediate future, however, it's all somehow going to lead to a big ball of crap for Noomi Rapace's main character, Elizabeth Shaw and her team of space explorers, leading to some girl-on-girl confrontation with Charlize Theron's sinister company woman, Meredith Vickers. (Might be worth the price of admission just for that.)
Michael Fassbender and Idris Elba also have prominent roles. (Michael Fassbender's penis, however, was not interested in the project.)
Prometheus hits theaters on June 8.
