The upcoming movie adaptation of the literary historical genre-mash-up, Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter has released its heavily-anticipated first trailer.
Based on the novel by Seth Grahame-Smith (who also co-wrote the screenplay,) the film seats Wanted helmer, Timur Bekmambetov in the director's chair for a film that appears to deliver what its title promises: President Abraham Lincoln killing vampires.
Indeed, a premise seemingly taken out of a SyFy Channel movie of the week has become a grandiose action-packed spectacle that could be a pivotal point for the burgeoning "Ex-Presidents Killing Stuff" genre of movies.

Suddenly, we have a new twist on the old Lincolnian adage, "A vampire divided against an axe cannot stand."
We only got little more than a minute of teaser material, so it will be interesting to see how this film holds up after the initial humor of "omg, Abe Lincoln killing vampires" wears off and the film has to carry itself.
Either way, the film will also serve as a big moment in the spotlight for Benjamin Walker, who dons the beard and stove top hat. Joining him, will be Mary Elizabeth Winstead as Mary Todd Lincoln, and Alan Tudyk as famed debate nemesis, Stephen Douglas.
You won't have to wait four score and seven years to see Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter when it hits theaters on June 22.
