It seems to me that Bill Nye The Science Guy should have told us in advance that when large bodies of water freeze at fast speeds, it tends to make noises that are the equivalent to taking an old power drill to a Styrofoam cooler that's nailed to a chalkboard while Mariah Carey is strapped to a torture rack.
