The first trailer for The Bourne Legacy has made its debut.
The movie franchise famously brought to life through the ass-kickery of Matt Damon's Jason Bourne has been reignited with a new character in the Bourne mythos played by Jeremy Renner. This time, Renner's Aaron Cross finds himself as the highly-trained assassin with superhuman talents for death-dealing who's on the run from "The Man."

Tony Gilroy, screenwriter of the first three films returns not only with an original story based on Robert Ludlum's Jason Bourne canon, but this time, also steps behind the camera as director. While his resume in the big chair is rather short, with major release suspense/spy films like Duplicity and Michael Clayton under his belt, he'll be looking to take this franchise in which he's already played a major part, into new territories.
You'd think that the CIA would stop the behavior-modifying techniques that spawn these off-the-reservation Super-Soldiers, but that wouldn't make for an interesting movie, now would it? Now, they've got to deal with freaking Hawkeye and his ability to make headshots on mid-flight planes! Screw...that.
Also joining star, Jeremy Renner in the series for the first time, are Edward Norton, Rachel Weisz, Stacy Keach, and Oscar Isaac, along with returning stars, Albert Finney, Joan Allen, David Strathairn, and Scott Glenn.
The Bourne Legacy hits theaters on August 3.
