Superman Rumor: Bradley Cooper As Lex Luthor?

Superman: The Man of Steel may already have its rogues gallery set to headline with Michael Shannon as General Zod. However, the latest rumor, is that the Summer 2013 film may also feature Supes' other signature villain, Lex Luthor. -- Played by star of The Hangover films, Bradley Cooper!

According to Cosmic BookNews, a tip informed them that after Cooper's role in the upcoming adaptation of Milton's Paradise Lost fell through, the actor was recruited to make what will simply be a cameo in the upcoming Superman reboot as the iconic industrialist who emphasizes the "mega" in megalomaniac.

This rumor is certainly unconfirmed, "take with a grain of salt" material. However, stranger things have happened, and director, Zack Snyder may realistically want to plant the seeds for a potential sequel by including a Luthor cameo. (Whether he is played by Cooper, or someone else.)

Some franchises need rebooting even just to keep the original's more treasured. Superman is one of those francises.
Even DC has rebooted (Many times maybe even to many) to keep the characters more current. With the "Man of Steel" reboot movie there is a potential to make Superman into a current blockbuster francise and if DC Entertainment and Warner Bro as it's parent company want to reboot there movies so be it. This may be the begining of a "universe" of theirs that could have tie-in to comics and create a chance to make team-movies (like Marvels Avengers). I see the Man of Steel being the begining of a new Superman francise as well as a reboot of Batman (again and yes I love the Nolan/Bale ones) as being a good starting point.
The Justice Leauge would be a great movie if they can do justice (sorry for the pun) to the other characters. A strong Wonder Woman flick the Flash needs a strong movie too. Green Lantern was ok in the theatrical version but I loved the recut on the Blue-Ray much better version and what it should have been released as. Some characters can be built up from with in these other movies. Like Marvel did with Black Widow and Hawkeye. Martian Manhunter could be used in a Superman movie Aquaman maybe in a Wonder Woman Movie ect.
This reboot and possible cameo by Luthor could be the start of a new way of telling stories. Use the movies for big major plots things that would make large big buget films and then in "Universe" of comics tell smaller stories in a way to build up to the next movie. If the film goer wants to fill in the gap read the comics but the films would need to stand on their own as well so those that don't want to read the book would not have to it would just add to the experience.
It makes the story telling more dynamic but woould both cost the Company alot as well as the customer as well. With our economy it would be hard to sell but most definatly worth it.

If Gene Hackman feels he is too old even with the help of makeup to once again pick up the torch, hhmmmmmmm, Michael C. Hall would be a good candidate, James Tolkan is probably a little too old as well but would definitely have the attitude.

I havent seen Sucker Punch yet or Superman Returns. Though it seems at least with Superman recent movies...and any game directly based on him since the 90s have been...well...horrid. DC needs to make a game using the Unreal 3 Engine and have it like the opening to DC Universe. Superman and other hero's battling out in the city and all with Apex Destruction. Superman going postal (like in the intro). That would be awesome. Superman has given in to the RAGE lol.

I hate to be one of those people who says a movie is going to suck before they even watch it, but...I think this movie is going to suck.

All this "re-booting" is getting out of hand and while I thought "The Watchmen" was cool, "Sucker Punch" most definitely was not cool at all. If Synder gives the same treatment to Superman then I think it is possible to expect an over stylized, confusing flick.

It would have been much better if they just continued where "Superman Returns" left off.
