Fee-fi-fo-fum, the epic first trailer for Jack the Giant Killer has finally come.
The film, which actually kept director, Bryan Singer from his return to the X-Men franchise, takes the old English fairy tale of Jack and the Beanstalk and twists it into an intense, effects-heavy, action-packed drama of a young man who comes across a power that threatens to destory an entire kingdom.
Indeed, the old story of a simple kid planting some beans and climbing to the sky has evolved into a spectacle with eye-popping 3D effects that may silence its naysayers.

Nicholas Hoult, best known as Beast in X-Men: First Class, as well as his role on the British teen drama, Skins, takes his first moment in the big movie spotlight, joined by a supporting cast that includes Ewan McGregor, Bill Nighy, and Ian McShane.
Of course, what would a tale of swords and kingdoms be without a missing princess? When Jack's insurance premium likely went up, due to a giant beanstalk sending his home into the sky, the princess he was romancing (Eleanor Tomlinson), along with what was left of his real estate, goes missing and ends up in the hands of a giant. Thus, his legendary quest above the clouds begins.
Jack the Giant Killer hits theaters on June 15, 2012.
