Ghost Rider: Spirit of Vengeance hits back with a second action-packed trailer of destruction!
Expanding on the trailer we got last summer, we see Nicolas Cage back on his demonic pyro-skid-marking hog, with the flaming mug to match.
This time, we're getting a more bitter version of Cage's Johnny Blaze, who has been dealing with his curse by taking to the road alone with a generally-grizzled demeanor. -- That is, until a once-in-an-eternity offer comes along to rescue a special child, which could yield the prize of having his curse lifted.
Check out the trailer below!
Just as we learned with that previous trailer, the Ghost Rider franchise got a serious reworking, thanks to Gamer and Crank directors, Mark Neveldine and Brian Taylor, eliminating a lot of the self-pitying love-sickness that was present in the first film over Eva Mendes' character. In fact, unofficially, this film has been said to be a reboot of sorts.
Not only is Mendes gone, but Beelzebub's Biker seems to be going stag this time around, allowing him to maximize his mandate of destroying anyone and anything that gets in his way with methods such as the classic "fire puke in the face" gag.
Ghost Rider: Spirit of Vengeance cruises into theaters February 17, 2012.
