Halloween is coming up and with the recent release of Star Wars: The Complete Saga on Blu-ray AND the weekend's announcement about the Star Wars: The Old Republic launch, this is the year to dress up as your favorite Star Wars character! (Also, how many times can I say Star Wars in one sentence?)
Here's the problem: too many people go for the boring and overdone, like the Slave Leia costumes, the Darth Vader helmets and the Han Solos. We get it. They're all important characters, blah blah blah but why not shake things up a bit?
We compiled our top five characters from the Star Wars universe that you should dress up as. Check them out after the jump.
1. Blinking Ewok
Yes, we know. George Lucas is a terrible person and added extra details to the Blu-ray editions of his trilogy. Darth Vader says "Noooo" and Ewoks blink. So why not dress up as the latter for Halloween? It's really easy. All you have to do is blink a lot.
2. Salacious B. Crumb
Everyone oohs and ahhs over the evil Jabba The Hutt but not many people pay attention to his pet, Salacious B. Crumb--especially when it comes to Halloween. And I don't know how this costume would realistically look but there's a first time for everything.
Lieutenant Jek Tono Porkins may have been a key figure in bringing down the Death Star (was he?) but he's better known as "That Fat Guy With The Unfortunate Name" from Star Wars. Let's commemorate his role in the Rebellion this year. Wait, what did he do again?
4. Sarlacc Pit
Let us never forget how important the Sarlacc Pit was in Return of the Jedi. Let us also never forget that it lives up to 50,000 years. That's a lot of...just sitting around on Tatooine. Also, if you're kind of a lazy person, this is the best costume to use as an excuse to not get up from the sofa.
5. Young Boba Fett Clone
See, you're not dressed up as the young Boba Fett. You're one of his thousands of clones. You just look like him. Get it? Because Jango Fett made a bunch of clones, including Boba Fett, to create the Grand Army of the Republic? So basically your favorite bounty hunrter isn't really that unique after all?
Also, can someone find out if we can play any of these characters in Star Wars: The Old Republic? Because that would be awesome. I call dibs on the Sarlacc Pit. Because I'm lazy like that.
