The Dark Knight Rises: Anne Hathaway's Complete Catwoman Costume

Set photos from The Dark Knight Rises have finally revealed Anne Hathaway's full Catwoman costume.

After Warner Bros released the first official photo of the actress in her role back in early August, the question that many-a-fan were asking, was whether she would be sporting either a mask or some version of her comic contemporary cowl. Well, the latest photos have answered that question definitively.

Check out some of the new photos below.

Hathaway appears with a small face mask that covers her eyes, along with a set of cat-ears, making her look somewhat of an amalgam of the modern comic book Catwoman below the neck with more of a classic comic look above it, somewhat reminiscent of how the character appeared in the campy 1960's Batman TV series.

I would imagine that the choice to give her a small face mask was made from the Hollywood-ish standpoint of wanting to get the beautiful starlet's face on screen as much as possible. However, every costume choice we've seen in the Nolan Batman films have served some kind of utilitarian function, and now, I can't help but feel that it's jumped a bit into the superficial.

Those ears serve NO purpose whatsoever unless they were part of a cowl that protected her head (which they are not,) and the facemask serves NO purpose because in a realistic context, it does very little to hide one's identity.

The numerous set photos we've been seeing over the past few months are definitely raw in nature, so I just hope that I'm proven wrong when the film hits on July 20, 2012.

Yeah if you go back and check the first pictures we saw of Catwoman on the Batpod, she's wearing goggles over her mask. So I just assume she pushes them up on her head and they become ears.

They missed commenting on the high heels - are those the least utilitarian feature of all? In fact, wouldn't those just get in the way, unless you're trying to stab someone with your heels or distract them by turning them on? Seriously, high heels?

I don't know but are'n t movies in general suppose to take place in fictional worlds with fictional characters. Why to do we in this day in age have to limit are imaginations just so everything fits in reality. This whole ultra real Nolan garbage is whats wrong with films today. Say what you want about Burton's Batman and Catwomen but at least he was'nt afraid of using his imagination. He created a Gotham city that felt like a Gotham city not downtown Chicago.

You are wrong... the face mask works with the "ears". The ears are lenses that flip down and lock into the face mask. And even if it wasn't a small facemask would help protect her identity since she is a burglar.

@dcampy but why wear both the goggles and a partial face mask? Although i guess she was seen riding the bike so i guess that makes sense.

I guess it's ok. It will have to do I guess. They should have went a different route with it. It's not original. She looks too much like Black Widow from Iron Man 2 and The Avengers movie.

It's actually not cat ears. It's goggles, and when pushed up on her head, they appear to be cat ears.

If Superman got away with it, then so can Catwoman.
