Immortals may just seem like the latest entry into the genre of stylistic, violent, beef-fests of Greek myth films. -- And it is. However, this one has the new Superman, Henry Cavill in the lead as the hero, Theseus. (Who, ironically, will be less-exposed here than in his junk-showcasing Supeman outfit.)
Playing opposite to Mickey Rourke's King Hyperion, Cavill will find himself within the scope of a grand battle as the very Gods themselves are rebelled against by the powerful Titans of old.
Director, Tarsem Singh seems to be sticking to the Zack Snyder 300 formula of shiny shields and shinier abs, while at the same time, handling drama that will probably end up a bit more diverse.
Immortals hits theaters on November 11.
