Did The Avengers cast member, Tom Hiddleston reveal the plot for next summer's mega superhero team-up?
At the Disney D23 Expo in Anaheim, cast members, Robert Downey Jr., Chris Hemsworth, Scarlett Johansson, Jeremy Renner, and Hiddleston, would assemble for a promotional appearance at the big event over the weekend.
However, a seemingly innocuous red carpet interview with Hiddleston, who will reprise his role from Thor as the villainous God of Mischief, Loki, would actually prove insightful towards the film's plot.
Warning for potential spoilers. Check it out below.
According to Hiddleston:
"Why would Iron Man, Thor, Captain America, The Hulk, Nick Fury, Black Widow, and Hawkeye have to team-up. Like in what context would they have to form a team?"
"And the reason is simply that Loki is trying to subjugate the Earth and turn it into his own personal kingdom, and he's made some shady deals in the rest of the universe with a bunch of people that are going to help him do that, and The Avengers have to come together to stop him."
This is essentially what most people believed the plot to be, anyway. However, the confirmation of this theme from Hiddleston himself, coupled with the recent footage of Captain America and Thor battling stuntmen in motion-capture suits who will eventually be "aliens" adds further credence to the still-unconfirmed idea that the team will do battle with the shape-shifting Skrulls, straight out of the pages of Marvel comics.
