While The Dark Knight Rises did some massive exterior shooting in Pittsburgh, PA over the weekend, it seems that details of the film were exposed to passersby as they snapped their pictures. As a result, a floodgate of set photos and videos have been unleashed onto the web showing Tom Hardy in full costume as he will appear in the film as Bane, as well as a few glimpses of Batman's new high-tech ride.
Check out some of them below!
Getty Images managed to procure some high-quality images of the huge Steel City Superbrawl, along with some cool close-ups of Bane such as this one. You can check out the full gallery on their site.
A camo-fied version of the Bat-Tumbler is seen in this pic, in this case appearing on Just Jared (also responsible for the title pic.)
However, this pic from the UK's Daily Mail, besides giving us a cool still of the fight, also gives us what could be (I stress, "could be") the first look at Joseph Gordon-Levitt's character in the film, John Blake, a uniformed Gotham Cop beating back undesirables with a nightstick.
...And here's some video of the big scrap, which (for better or worse) evoke images of "Bang!" and "Kapow!"
Personally, I'm not sure how I should process all of this. Or, for that matter, that I even should, given the raw nature of the footage. However, one thing that's immediately apparent, is that Bane, a character in the comics whose size literally towers over Batman, appears here around the same height and general size.
Now, granted, director, Christopher Nolan's Bat-Verse is centered more in the realm of the realistic and a visually-literal translation of the Venom-infused muscle-man from the comics probably wouldn't work on film. (Batman & Robin, anyone?) But, if I had to guess, we may see a good amount of camera trickery and low-shots to make Bane appear more monolithic than he does in this footage.
Other than that, good stuff!
Do you have any feedback on all of this leaked goodness?
