When sitting on a crowded train and the Conductor tells you to keep your voice down, normal, rational people simply apologize and follow the request. However, it seems that when you're as vastly educated as this woman claims, then what you do, is create a big, annoying spectacle filled with whiny, pseudo-intellectual smugness.
Heads up! She's about to drop some knowledge on these uneducated proles who simply want a "relaxing and quiet trip."
