Widening The Net: 1988 Junior High Hip-Hop From Kentucky

Posted March 14, 2011 - By Mike D'Alonzo

You might not remember 1988, dear AOTB reader, but I sure do. It was a good year for...um...for...well, not anything, really. Or, at least it wasn't for me. In Kentucky, however, a trio of aspiring hip-hop artists were ripping it up live on stage at their junior high talent show. Hitman and Hollywood were spitting rhyme like 13 year-olds, and Coolie B holding it down on the drums, fresh off of two years work of drum lessons, and looking like a young, corn-fed Brian Bosworth.

If only we had some documentation of the event. Oh, we do? Well, then. Prepare yourself for a treat.
