    I agree with you completely. The first computer I bought new was an Alienware when I graduated highschool in '02. Since then I've been building my own computers and you can easily make a more powerful machine for less money. It has been almost three years on my current rig and I'm just getting to it's limit (I have to play BF:BC2 on medium settings).

    Yeah, it was a mistake buying mine 3 years ago. Priced at just under $2500, I can't even get the most out of today's tech unless I replace my mobo. Never again.

    The Alienware M17 notebook was the only decently priced machine cuz it was really a rebrand of a flextronics model (sold most notably as the OCZ Whitebook 17 in)

    Other than that I totally agree, a DIY build could totally knock the socks off those machines with PCMarkVantage or 3dMark at easily half the price

    so tired of alienware over price machines. I have build better and cheaper than any alienware.
