You know how you have to sit down with your mom for like the hundredth time to teach her how to check her cell phone messages or how bewildered your dad gets when you tell him that he has to download the latest version of Java?
Sorry to say it, but your parents are techtarded (or technologically handicapped for the politically correct) and you will be one day too unless you keep watching Gadget Pr0n.
You don't want to end up like grandma, do you? No, you don't want to get so out of touch with technology that you start to believe that PDAs are powered by ghosts.
On today's Gadget Pr0n we'll review the Belkin n52te SpeedPad.
Also, are you a friend to the Earth? Then check out GCycle... it's G4's new initiative to try and get you to be a better person and recycle tech stuff!
Belkin n52te SpeedPad
- The wrist pad actually makes gaming more comfortable, and it doesn't slow you down
- All the keys and buttons are reachable, except for the spacebar key; this one needs to be a little closer
- The removable joystick/directional pad is very cool, but we weren't able to find much use for it
- Whole thing is backlit with gamer blue
- Macro anything on this device, plus it has 3 keymaps so you could map the entire keyboard on it
- Around 40 keystrokes per macro, plus the onboard memory stores everything so you can use it without software
- Tons of profiles for different games
- Razer software worked surprisingly well, and it updated on the fly with no crashing
- One thing we wanted to do was map the mouse to the joystick so it could be all-in-one mouse and keyboard, but that didn't work as intended. You'll just have to have an awesome mouse too
- You can find it online for about $60, but if Belkin lowers it to forty, every single gamer needs this device
- It's one of those things that you don't realize you need until you use it. It'll work well for WoW, FPSs, any kind of game
