Posted By: Eugene Morton - Monday, October 08, 2007 11:13 AM

Most of you were barely done finishing the fight when you got word that Bungie, makers of the acclaimed Halo series (an Xbox and Xbox 360 exclusive), and Microsoft were splitting.

The news undoubtedly seemed like some ridiculous rumor to Halo fanboys and MS share holders alike, at first, but it turned out to be true. The company behind one of the most successful videogame franchises of all time was leaving its former owner and heading for more independent, hopefully greener pastures.

What will this move mean for Microsoft, for Bungie and for the gaming world in general?

Discussing Bungie’s big move, we’ll have the Senior Editor for Electronic Gaming Monthly, Bryan Intihar and X-Play’s Adam Sessler.

Yes the bungie guys are smart, but with little experience with other game systems, they will be hard pressed to make a good game like halo for all the systems. The technologies are so different that they will probably have to build limitations on themselves in order to fit the 3 systems. This sort of thing could be bad for geniuses like bungie.
