Sony’s been having a rough go of it lately as far as videogames are concerned. Far from the warm reception they must have expected for their latest gaming console (with such claims as "Next Gen begins, when we say so"), the Playstation 3 has become almost anathema in the gaming world.
Their black box may have the power of the cell processor and come with the ability to play Blu-ray movies, but the expensive price tag, lack of quality games and, what some might call, cocky swagger of Sony have translated into poor sales for the PS3, though that’s beginning to change.
Sony seems to have changed its tune, the price of the PS3 has gone down $100 and the console’s upcoming first and third party games look great. Is Sony poised to make a comeback? Will it rule the roost for a third generation in a row?
We’ll hear from Mr. Sony himself, the President and C.E.O. of Sony Computer Entertainment of America, Jack Tretton and find out what he has to say about the future of the PS3.

i love the ps3, i think its awesome. BUT...i just cant afford it, the games look beautiful, i love the controller, but the price definatley needs 2 go down some more

Didn't he say he's not aware of any rumble function in the controller and they're standing behind the Sixaxis controller?!? How is that possible if all the latest reports show there's a new controller with the rumble function? And 400 new games coming this fiscal year between Ps2, PS3, and PSP... I doubt it!

prime example of to little too late for sony...nintendo and the wii have left hard core and are now shifting to casual gamers so they have that locked up...xbox came out the gate fast and hard with gears of war,lost planet, they brought guitar hero 2 to the 360,now they have bio shock locked up,halo 3, assassins creed and other titles...sony just cant keep up..they had some good games at E3 but im not going to jump of my sofa run down to gamestop and trade in my 360 for a ps3 because of a few good ps3 only titles coming out in 08

Price drop? Too little too late. And it's only $100. Whoop-dee-freakin-doo! It'd be awesome if they announced that they'd get their exclusives back

I wish Kevin had more people on the panel to grill Jack. There has never been THREE consoles by one company in a row that dominated each generation. I think Son will have to think about the next console.

One more thing, when our games come out, if you think I'm going to spend a day at some stinking convention to talk to reporters, you are sadly mistaken. Conventions should be for fans and for showing appreciation to them.
Can you imagine a comic book or movie con that's just for other artists and stinking reporters? It's abosolute crap I already turned down my first, and will turn down my every E3 invitation for this reason. Absolute waste of time!
I've spent 20 million dollars on advertising (well not really me but still) what on earth makes you think I need to talk to some creep who doesn't even like other video game fans. Total rubbish, time to cut out the middle men crap!!!!!!!!!!

boring...got a PS3 got a Xbox 360 I don't get the imbecilic Sony is not worthy of my money going on, you happy with a really not the upgrade in graphics ability system promised, the 360 is, then enjoy.

No matter what Sony does, nothing beats the game library the 360 has and the wonderful ability to play all my multiplayer games with my friends within minutes. Maybe 2 years down the road with another price cut & games worth checking out, i'll think about added the 3rd console to my collection. Also, they need to get their online act together big time.
