On Friday, the iPhone was unleashed upon the world, much to the delight of Apple fan boys and techie hipsters everywhere.
People from all walks of life lined up for days to buy the phone they believed was capable of doing anything and everything.
In this installment of Gadget Pr0n, we’ll find out whether or not the phone that’s supposed to be able to do everything can do everything well.
iPhone
- 3.5 Inch display and super thin profile
- Easy menu and navigation system
- 2 megapixel camera
- Virtual Keyboard takes some getting used to
- Bluetooth limitations
- Lack of voice dialing
- Lack of mass texting capabilities
- No instant messaging application
- Less than stellar cell quality
- Recessed headphone jack seems strange
- Camera needs a flash
- The battery is non- user replaceable ($80 to replace)
- Not for iTunes users with large libraries
- Not for hardcore power users

It looks like a pretty nice phone with alot of 'bells & whistles', but obviously there are quite a few of modern cell phone extras it's lacking, one that I've noticed (but not all phones have this feature) is 2 way talking, ie; "where you at" feature. And the fact there isn't a user replaceable battery is a downer. I've heard you only get like 800 charges (not bad) but when the battery finally won't charge up for a decient amount of standby time even. Apple requests you send in your iPhone for battery replacement and it could take up to 2 weeks before you get it back. So what are these iPhone dependant people going to do for cell phone fixataion while theirs is out of service for the duration Apple has it 'hostage'?
