The advent of Apple’s next miracle gadget, the iPhone is nearly upon us and this Friday, we’ll be covering it like no one else.
Our exclusive iPhone coverage begins with a very special Attack of the Show at 7PM, where we’ll give you a bi-coastal look at it’s release, present the first ever review and host a battle royale that would put the Thrilla’ in Manila to shame, a fast paced text off between the defending champ of texting, the traditional QWERTY device and Steve Job’s new contender for the crown.
That friends, is just the beginning. A live Free Stuff will follow at 10PM ET/ PT and we’ll be giving away nothing but iPhones! That’s free iPhones ready and waiting to go directly from our studios to your eagerly awaiting hands.
Don’t bother looking anywhere else, because this Friday it’s all about the iPhone and it’s only on G4!

I was completely flattened and realized that they are no better than M$ with their upcoming TC and DRM which apple is also in bed with. I had some issues with my IPOD so I found out about this "genius" bar (I don't mean to be horrible here apple has a good idea it's just they use the same "training" techniques as other companies so their "genius" bar is the same as any phone support, mediocre unless you catch a seasoned employee) I went there telling them that my IPOD didn't mount (sure I was using dreaded linux but the principle is the same) it told me about bad sectors. The "tech" told me that new hard drives wouldn't even function with bad sectors, they would shut down. Also that since I was using it as an external drive that it might cause problems (I was later told by 1800 number that it IS an external drive). So he fed me a bunch of baloney. with those 2 things I will NEVER buy apple.

I ended up buying an IPOD cause I LOVE music and needed a way to listen to it on the go. I was happy with my ipod for a while till I got tired of the pitfalls of MP3 files (another story). so I put rockbox on it so I could play my new flac files (now it's great). back to the computer, I called apple to get some info on their new systems and what I could expect, I was told that if I was to upgrade the mac that I PAID FOR, the system wouldn't let me, much like M$ bullcrap with their activation nonsense.

I just saw on attack of the show tonight about the iphone. I don't have an iphone, but it comes as no suprise to me what they are doing. Let's look at some history, I started with an apple IIGS and I liked it but when I got to junior high I found the PC. I was happy with it cause I didn't have internet at home but to be honest the apple IIGS was much prettier if not functional for the times. I have watched apple over the years, never owning one as I needed compatability and when they had that I couldn't afford one. I always admired apple as the nintendo of the computer world, coming out with cool new things that everyone needed and wanted. When I heard that the new OS X was based on Unix I was ready, I said to myself I am going to be a mac user.

wait, i hav at&t, so i would be paying exactly how much for this phone?

Obviously if you dont already have an account with AT&T or Cingular then you're gonna end up paying the $500-$600 for the phone/2yr contract ontop of a $175-$200 cancellation fee plus an activation fee and other surcharges on the first invoice. My question is what other rape charges should we prepare for if we end up being swept over by the iphone wave sweeping the nation.
