At one point, everyone thought the Wii was going to be untouchable.
Unfortunately, time has revealed that it might not be the perfect system everyone thought it would be. It's fun, sure, but there are only so many times you can play Wii Bowling or Super Swing Golf before saying "Jesus! ENOUGH!"

Nintendo never promised the Wii would be a anything hardcore that would seriously compete with the PS3 or 360. Infact, since the begining they promised just the opposite. It is NOT meant to house the next "Final Fantasy 7" or "Obilivion 4" It is SUPPOSED to be a simple, time killing machine. I thought changing it's name from the "Nintendo Revolution" proved that. Geez, people. Can't games just be FUN?

People are complaining mainly about the games that came out in January and early February. Sonic came out, I think SSX came out but I'm not sure. Super Paper Mario is coming out in April and Super Mario Strikers: Charged I believe is coming out in April, too.
@ NickD: Quiet down, I'm 13. I don't know anyone who owns a Wii and is younger than I am. Older people are playing Wii (40-year-old's) and many hardcore gamers have Wii as well. And other than Resistance, there's nothing for PS3 to feel good about.

all you 360 and PS3 fanboys are just jealous of the Wii. it's cheaper, more fun and plus the online is free. the controller is just one of the many great things about the Wii. and there is more to gaming then graphics. art or one. not to mention great game play and control. I think Gears of Wars is crap cus the control sceme and the mindless violence can only take you so far. yea Nintendo may have a history of not having M rated games but so what. Mario and Zelda kick anything Sony or Microsoft could ever do EVER. The Wii weakness is it' strength. The developers want gamer to wait and yearn for the games we want so we can buy more. The wii is a next year gaming console, not next generation, so it is to be accepted for its faults; besides almost everybody you can think of love nintendo because they aren't really serious like the others.It's LOVEABLE, like a cute puppy:)

I love my wii it is my favorite thing ever (except for my skateboard). I think whoever doesnt like the wii can just shut their mouths. The wii is great it is way better than the gamecube. You know how a car or a pet says alot about your personality? Same thing with consoles. Wii owners are kinda like...well, I won't say it, but, I will say to Xwing that Nintendo will always have to compete with the the sonys, microsofts, segas, etc. father of gaming or not.

O.k. I got my wii 2 weeks ago. I love it. I have 4 controllers and chucks so when my friends come over we all have a blast. It's a party system. Something you and your friends can all play and all enjoy. I own a 360 ( will not purchase a ps3) I love my 360 with all my heart. but when I want something different, I'm going to go for my wii ( that didn't come out right). I am a 360 achievement whore so not getting anything for doing something hard is kind of a bummer....but i'll live.

The ps3 and 360 are just copy cats the 360 is starting to use ATI like the nintendo wii and the ps3 took the motion sence from the wii mote and put it in there junk remote...why cant the ps3 and the 360 come out with there own way to change games besides copying the nitendo wii and upgrading graphics... boring how can grapics chane games hahahaha...

I still think that the nintendo wii is still winning the war gashh people morio galaxy is coming out 4-1-07 thats like in a month... super smash bros brawl is going to be online and thats comming out in like two months.. NOT THAT LONG...SO JUST HOLD ON AND WAIT...Oh ya and the 360 has been out for over a year thats why there are so many games out... wait that long for the wii and there will be even better games...you know its true...

Looks like Nintendo may have rushed the console out quicker than they really wanted. About 20 hours later (about 3 weeks)my console started showing lines, sort of like static lines. Has anybody having heating/Visual issues?

Wii is not next gen rather its an entire product of its own so basically its just Sony Vs. Microsoft.

Even when people don't think the graphics are as good and the other guys its still a whole lot more fun to play, that makes it #1 in my book. Even if Zelda and Metroid where the only games on Nintendo i would still prefer it over the others although i do like Sony and own a PS2.

Druidblue's right. This morn, I saw some workers playing Wii Baseball at the Best Buy in Arundel Mills, and thought it was cool. The Wii already has a lot going for it right now with its Mii, Virtual Console, and a few early hits like Twilight Princess. The really good stuff usually takes about a year er two after a console's launch, so what they said about Mario and Metroid not coming until X-Mas isn't something to gripe about; Nintendo should be just fine. I can't say the same however for Microsoft and/or Sony though (Their consoles hinge on the outcome of the format war).

lack of online play and ds connectivity are 2 more wiiknesses. online play is almost understandable, but not being able to do something with the ds and the wii is just shameful

I'd have to say the biggest Wii problem right now is supply. I can't find one anywhere without issue, and I've been all over the tri-state area of PA, OH, and WV.
As for the comment posted by Mongrell above... well, I guess dirty pulls like that are to be expected from someone whose moniker means a dirty dog. :-D

The Wii looked like and sounded like a bad idea to me from the first time I saw one.
Kids are too lazy and then there is the repetitive motions that only get more and more annoying as you play .
Kevin should take a Wii to the range and blast the living hell out of it with a 12 Gauge!

While I plan to eventually own all three of the consoles (I have none of this "I must only like one and hate the others" mentality), my first purchase upon obtaining the money will be a 360. Why? Number of games available right this moment that are worth playing. Sure, I'd love to experience the greatness of the new Zelda game on the Wii- but I'd rather own a 360 with several sports games, Gears of War, Mass Effect and Viva Pinata than be stuck with just some Zelda and Wii Sports.
I'm sure there will be more great Wii titles in the future- just like there will be some great PS3 titles in the future.
People need to learn to be PATIENT again... apparently the art was lost with my generation.

The biggest problem for the future is that games might get stale. Unless the games continue to be innovative the appeal of the Wii might fall. The biggest problem right now is that the games really don't look anywhere near the 360 or the PS3. Call of Duty 3 shouldn't look like it's for the N64.
