Oscar Noms

It's awards season again and you know what that means...time for Oscar to show us how blazingly out of touch they are with the rest of the world!

The nominations for this year's Oscar awards were released this morning. Did you see them? Read the complete list here, so you'll be ready for tonight's Loop where our experts are going to talk about the nominations and figure out whether the Oscars really mean anything anymore or not.

I'm going to guess not.

On a personal note, even though the Oscars are totally irrelevant, I hope Leo wins best actor. I once stood in line behind him at a frozen yogurt stand. I'm willing to root for anyone who loves frozen yogurt as much as I do.

No real suprises here. Accept for DiCaprio for Blood Diamond and that awful, inaccurate accent? He was much better in The Departed. Speaking of...Wahlberg? An oscar nominee? For saying the F word every other sentence? Apocalypto should have been nominated for cinematography- and best picture. And FYI- the Oscars were never in touch with moviegoers from the beginning. (And Silent Hill had better art direction that Pan's Labrynth)

I kinda am hoping "The Departed," doesn't snag too many since it is just a crappy remake. Honestly, not a lot of thought went into it, they just wanted to make a "good," film with as little effort into creating a cool story as possible.

I think the prize should go to a film that is actually innovative and entertaining, not just to a film starring your favorite actor or a film that has respected or big names attached. "The Departed," may be a good film, but it certainly wasn't the best or most creative.

But then again, it's hard to come across a film these days that isn't a remake or sequel.

    Just my opinion though.

    Have a nice day!

I think that they should band this game and the psycho that made it. I can't believe people are ok with this. How about we make a game were you play as Hitler and kill millions of innocent people. But hey it's just a video game bull crap why would you play a game where you’re the psycho killer that’s just sick. all this guy wanted in the first place it to get attention well he succeed in that didn't he and for the comments about pearl harbor and WWII, that was war people died defending there country. It wasn’t like we just mass murder of everybody, it was war there is a big difference.
