Comic book critic Blair Butler is cooler than anything. You should listen to her when she tells you about comics because Science has proven her opinions have never been wrong...ever. This week's picks of sequential picture fiction are below.

Twentieth Century Eightball – Daniel Clowes collection of hilariously cynical short stories gave birth to “Art School Confidential.” Skip the movie, read the book. (my favorite selections? “The Party,” “Art School Confidential,” and “Marooned on a Desert Island with People on the Subway.”) – BUY

New X-Men: E is for Extinction – This modern X-classic helped make Marvel cool again back in 2001. Thank Marvel editor-in-chief Joe Quesada, but most of all thank Grant Morrison’s dark story and Frank Quitely’s mind-blowing pencils. X never looked so good. – BUY

Superman: Red Son – Mark Millar re-imagines the Man of Steel as a Soviet super hero. One of the best DC Elseworlds titles – along with “Gotham by Gaslight” and “Batman: Holy Terror.” – BUY

    Nice picks Blair,
Red Son is possibly the coolest story with probably the twistiest ended ever... crazy time paradoxes.

    To those reading this:
    Pick up these 3...
~Batman Year 100 issue 4,which has a very sweet ending.
~52 is pretty cool, also check the most awesomest site for a comic series: http://www.dccomics.com/sites/ 52/
~Rival Schools #1, For fans of Sharknife and PENG!, REY is at it again, YOSH!
