Minoriteam

sjohnson
Posted April 17, 2006 - By Stephen Johnson

Our guests today are the creators of Minoriteam, a show about a group of superheroes who use the power of racial stereotypes to fight crime-- they got Non-Stop, an Indian convenience store owner, El Jefe, a Mexican that fights crime with a leaf blower, Dr. Wang, Chinese Human Calculator, Fasto, an African-American man who is known as "the fastest man that ever was," and Jewcano, a man with the powers of the Jewish faith and a volcano. It's edgy, it's funny, but is it racist?

Depends on who you ask.

Why not check it out on the Cartoon Network Sunday at Midnight and decide for yourself.

the interview was pretty dry but it was her first one. It'll take some time for her to get use to an interview. I think for her first time it was okay

Olivia is very sweet but I'm sure she can improve on her interviewing technique. OM, you don't have to be so serious when you're interviewing a couple of goofballs from a comedy animation show. And plus, there wasn't a word about Jack Kirby's influence on the Minoriteam visuals!!!! Arggghhhhh!!!!!!

Wasn't that guy with the fake moustache the same guy from short lived Comedy Central bomb 'I'm with Busey'?

I have been watching [Adult Swim] since the first day it aired, and although I'm a big fan of the whole "pretend to be racist in a comedic way just to make people really think about it" camp, I don't think this show cuts it. The animation is crapped out, in an attempt to be more like other [AS] shows, but lacks the actual good dialog and humour that balence its cousins out. The racial humour is lite and obvious, but doesn't do anything to spark a single enlightening thought. Family Guy can make jews-do-taxes-well jokes, but Minoriteam bombed trying to pull of a Jewcano-is-the-ultimate-tax-pr eparer gag in the last episode.

The show looks weird but i usually like shows on adult swim so i'll give this one a try. That interview went real bad. Those guys were kinda annoying to begin with, mix that with her inexperience...real bad. Kevin should have handle that one.
