Why are you leaving Attack of the Show?

I am leaving Attack of the Show because…it’s a complicated reason. Brendan Moran and I are getting married. After we get married, ten days later, we’re going to be on a plane embarking on a year-long honeymoon…if not longer. We’ll see how long our money lasts. So, having a job and not being around for a year just didn’t work out, so we decided to take the leap and move on.

How do you feel about leaving?

I’m really excited. I’m not glad to leave here, though. I have a lot of friends who worked at both G4 and Tech TV. It’s a really solid group of people. You work with people all day, every day, for a number of years, it’s going to be really weird not to work here anymore. But, you know, I’m going to be 30 later this year, I’m getting married, so it seemed like a really good time to move on and do something fresh.

Wow. A year long trip?

I want to really be sure that the fans of ours understand we’re going to be sharing our trip with all of you. Because there’s no good reason to go on such a long trip and see all these things and bring a video camera and laptop and not use the media at our disposal. Whether it’s podcasting or still images or travelogue, we’ve got all this stuff and I have a feeling there will be so much we want to share with people. We’ll be in really remote locations that most people are never gonna have the chance to go to, that we’ll have a lot of stuff we’ll want to share.

So you're adventure traveling?

Full-on adventure traveling. I’ve had a lot of people ask me: “You must be independently wealthy to be able to afford this trip.” But no. We’ve saved up some money, and flying around the world isn’t cheap, but we’re backpacking. Taking very little with us. Especially when you have a laptop and videocamera with you, there’s not a lot of room for much else. So we’re really gonna be roughing it. It’s going to be exciting… although I don’t know what I’m going to do without someone to do my make-up and hair every day!

Do You think people in Tibet will be like “OMG! You’re on Attack of the Show!”

You know, we have a big following in Malaysia. We’re not necessarily going to Kula Lumpur, but I get emails from that area all the time, so you never know.

What advice do you have for your replacment Olivia Munn?

I had the opportunity to meet Olivia this week, and I really like her. She’s really smart and seems really cool. I think the most important thing to do on show like this is to try and have as much fun as possible. I know that sounds trite, but there’s long hours, it’s live four days a week. It can be a grind. And you always want to stay as positive as possible because it’s a great opportunity. The stuff we talk about is fun. I laugh a lot and I think, if it’s the right fit for her, she’ll have a ball.

A lot of fans are really gonna miss you...what do you have to say to them?

I know a lot of people are disappointed that I won’t be on TV every night, and I understand that. For the fans who are really interested in what we’re doing, my website, Sarahlane.com is alive and well and will be updated and we’re going to do a rebranding of it to reflect what we’re up to. So it won’t be the same, but change is good.

What is it about Brendan Moran?

He’s so good with the ladies, I just couldn’t refuse. The thing about him is, I’ve know him for a long time, we wrere work colleagues. So… when the opportunity arose to spend some time together, it took only a matter of hours before we were both on the same page. About what we wanted to do and that we wanted to do it together. And I’ve never had anything like that before, so… I guess when you know you know. And I do.
