Today's live music performers, The Nervous Return, rock hard and they rock heavy. Pop, punk, rock and awesome, all mixed up and served sonically. Band members Greg, Shane, Anthony, and Jason are influenced by Blondie, Fugazi, Japan, Television, Sonic Youth, Soft Boys, new and many other bands more awesome than the bands you like. They've mixed these influence to create their unique sound.
According to their website, "The Nervous Return's music and live shows are "threatening and electrifying, making you laugh, turning you on and pissing you off, sometimes all within one song. This music is the sound of defiled Hollywood hallucinations, channeling the feral aggression of Iggy’s Detroit, the romantic melancholy of post-punk London, and Bowie’s darkest glam fantasies," and, having listened to their stuff, I agree.
Their new album, 144 Hours, comes out in June. I insist you purchase it at once. I insist you check out their myspace page and find out where they're playing near you...if you're man enough.
