Cage 9

Posted March 2, 2006 - By Stephen Johnson

Alt-rawk four-piece Cage9 have made a name for themselves the old fashioned way, by hitting the road everywhere from Europe to the East Coast to Central America. Their high-octane live shows have garnered them quite a buzz and lead to opening slots with everyone from Seether, Amy Lee of Evanescence, Buckcherry, Smile Empty Soul, Cheap Trick, Depswa, Authority Zero, Spineshank, Cro-mags, James Iha, and Opiate for the Masses.

The band is made up of Evan Rodaniche on guitar and vocals, Gustavo Aued on bass, Jesse Beltz on guitar, and Warren Johnson drums, four gents who pride themselves on strong songs with massively catchy hooks. Citing influences from the likes of Foo Fighters, Dredg, Cave In and A Perfect Circle, Cage9’s new album (El Motivo) is reminiscent of those acts and more, yet they bring something of their own to the table. And the industry has taken notice via a deal with BMG Music Publishing, songs heard in the Dukes of Hazzard movie (they performing updated version of Waylan Jenning's "Good Ol' Boys" theme song), The Shield, American Pie: Band Camp, ESPN/Japan, and Stephen J. Cannell's new thriller Demon Hunter. Their last EP even received a 3.5 star review in Rolling Stone Magazine (Latin America).
