The Academy Awards kick off this weekend. Finally, Hollywood actors and actresses will get the adulation they deserve.  Our own Jimmy the Geek is on hand to give his picks.

Here's how Jimmy sees it working out:

Best Actor: Philip "Philly" Seymour Hoffman

Best Director: Ang Lee

Best Supporting Actor: George Clooney

Best Actress: Reese Witherspoon

Best Supporting Actress: Rachel Weisz

Best Picture: Crash

Bonus lock: Odds that Jimmy the Geek gets by the doorman at the Vanity Fair post-Oscar party: 1,000,000 to 1.

Holy Crap all his picks were right. That is crazy. He must have signed a deal with satan when he was there.

It seems odd that Jimmy's picks are almost identicle to those of Stephen Colbert.

Jimmie picked almost all the same ones I did. The only difference is best picture. I went with Brokeback Mountain. But that's pretty gutsy to pick a best director for a different movie than your best director pic. Everyone knows that the film that won best director almost always also takes Best Picture.

My all gay (plus 1 transgender) prediction...

    Director: Ang Lee,
    Actor: Heath Ledger,
    SupActor: Jake Gyllenhall,
    Actress: Felicity Huffman,
    SupActress: Michelle Williams,
    Picture: Brokeback Mountain.

(As long as Clooney doesn't win.
    His ego is freakishly huge.)
