The guys from EDOC Laundry gave us the inside scoop an their brand new clothing-based alternate reality game (also known as an ARG). EDOC Laundry is the brainchild of Elan Lee (lead designer on the groundbreaking I Love Bees ARG created for Halo 2) and Shane Small (who designs all of EDOC Laundry's clothing).
EDOC Laundry's clothing and accessories each tell a little bit of the story of a defunct rock band called Poor Richard. A member of the band is dead now and someone is trying to tell the story through secret codes and hidden messages embedded in clothing.
If you can solve the riddle of the clothing (under the inside of each shirt is the key/primer/rosetta stone). It says nothing to hide in code. Then, on the shirt there are symbols similar to those inside the shirt. But in some cases, they're not the same exact symbols and a 'G' or an 'E' isn't always a 'G' or an 'E'.
After seeing them up close, you'll know right away that these aren't just any old shirts - they've got embroidery, unique stitching, awesome designs - everything you'd expect from a top-of-the-line indie clothing company. Plus the fact that a shirt isn't just a shirt; it tells a story.
Solve the puzzle, head to the EDOC Laundry site, enter the code word "FACADE" to uncover more of the mystery and try to put the pieces in place.
The clothes will be available in stores and online on March 1!
