January means one thing to the hard-core geek: The International Consumer Electronics Show. CES is the annual meeting-of-the-tribes of the electronics and computing industry, so Wil O'Neil went out to Vegas to check the gadgets, hang out with booth babes, and generally get all up in CES's business.
Windows Vista looks very interesting, no?
Speaking of microsoft, the announcement that an external HD-DVD drive would be available for the Xbox 360 was made on Wednesday night. Nice.
...and in the world of Sony, Tom Hanks is funny, Blu-ray is sexy, and the Sony EBook Reader looks very cool... if you're into that whole "reading" thing.
Check in tomorrow for more CES.

Heh... It's pretty funny seeing how much Microsoft stole from Apple's ideas. Vista is looking more and more like OS X every day. And you know what? MS is gonna get all of the credit for it, because people are stupid and listen to Bill Gates.
I'm happy about the fact that MS is backing HD-DVD, though. I'm definately on the HD-DVD side. Blu-Ray is overhyped, is too expensive, and yes, it really does have TOO much storage. Who is EVER gonna need a 50 gig disc, even for high-def content... seriously!

Speaking of CES... You gotta feature this "Exer-Station WorkOut Stick" on the show; they're taking themselves so seriously, and it just looks funny:
