Let's face it, any jerk can walk around with a Batman or Superman doll, but if you're anything like me, you need more outre homonculi to decorate your cubicle. Action-figure maker Bill Burns understands. He stopped by to show off his work creating small versions of less-mainstream comic book/movie heroes. Like this fella:

That's Burns' recreation of my favorite comic book figure of all time: Black Lightning, the "Human Dynamo of Justice". Black Lightning was a DC hero who kicked around for a few issues in the late '70s. He was brought up in the Suicide Slums section of Metropolis (who knew there was a ghetto in Superman's hometown?) where he taught school by day and battled evil gang-leader/albino Tobias Whale by night. He had a belt that could shoot lightning... but the lightning was black, hence the name. Plus, he rocked an afro and his costume has a massive leisure-suit collar that helped him fight crime. They just don't make superheroes like that anymore.
Anyway, check out Burns' site and get a price list for your own obscure figurine.

Thats so cool, I think I could get into trying that myself. When I was in seventh grade I modded a Frankenstien's monster, some girls caught me taking the finished product to my friend's house . They laughed at me and called me names. Im ok now though.
