What we did was follow the MacMerc tutorial exactly and then we created a Photoshop action from those steps. MacMerc simplified the process for their Photoshop action, but we got better results from the more complicated one we made from their original instructions. You can download the zipped Photoshop action that we created.
If you don't know how to load/run Actions inside Photoshop, close Photoshop and step away from your computer. Just kidding... sorta. Make sure the Actions window is viewable (Window > Actions). To load the action, select Load Action from the Action window's menu and select the ATN file that you extracted from the zip archive.
To run the action, open and select the JPEG (or flattened PSD) image you want to Comic Bookify. Then select the Comic Action inside the Comic Effect folder. Then, press the Play button and follow the directions in the dialog boxes. This action works great in Photoshop CS. Your mileage may vary.
We got the best results when the picture that we started with was at least 1200 pixels in height. The bigger your picture (2000 pixels high was the biggest we tried), the better the results. Don't be afraid to scale up smaller images. Any pixelation/artifacting will almost certainly be wiped away by the Comic Book Effect.

This doesn't seem to work with CS2. It worked great when I had CS. Once I upgraded to CS2, it didn't work. How do I make it work with CS2?

This looks like it would be fun to do since I love playing around with graphics. Is there a way I can do this with Paint shop Pro since I don't have Photoshop installed on my computer?
