Taking his own life in his hands, Kevin dared to challenge Fear Factory drummer Raymond Herrera to a drum-off on yesterday's show.
Watch the gory spectacle for yourself...

i liked watching kevin playing the drums...he was pretty good...in my opinion he won :)
Wow, I never even knew you played the drums Kev. Good job, and I do think you did a much better job than Ray.
I'll have to agree with Willis on this instead of Old_Hag about the drummer ordeal. Check out Mike Portnoy from Dream Theater, absolutely amazing drummer.
I expected a lot more from Herrera. I think he got soft after Transgression. "Slave Labor" and "Cyberwaste" were awsome tracks from Archetype, his work with Brujeria was good too, I was expecting that calibur. I was extremely impressed with Kevin. Major props to him.
NEVER GIVE UP ON THE HEAVY MUSIC!
very sweet drum solo doing the double bass with only on peddel nice kevin very nice, i believe that you blew ramond! nice job kevin great solo!
Kevin won the battle imo. Why? Because he actually had a better groove. Raymond might have won as far as speed goes (not that Raymonds drumming was overly technical or anything) but he sounded like a robot.
And sorry Old_hag, the drummers for the bands you mentioned, while not terrible by any means, are NOT the best by a long shot. Before you try and to respond with a "witty" comback, watch the following video clip of Virgil Donati....(pay close attention to the section at 1:29 seconds into the song)

Along with Donati, Thomas Lang and Mike Mangini and a few others are among an elite group of drummers. Not only are all 3 faster then the metal drummers you mentioned (Mike Mangini holds the world's fastest drum record) but they are able to play FAR more complex drum parts. They play multiple odd timesignatures at the same time (polyrythmns) and have 4 limb independence.
Great job Kevin.
Getting off the subject of drumming show-down a little, but you need to check out the drummer's for "The End" "Lamb of God" and "Cryptopsy". The drummer's for these bands far excels any drummer out there. This is not an opinion, it's a fact. Check these bands out, especially Lamb of God and The End.
Kevin, your good on drums dude, but if you want to further exel in the field of double bass, listen to Mayhem's drums dude. then ask that fear factory guy again, and CREAM him in his own shit dude. get Mayhem - Cursed in Eternity
Immortal - Damned In Black
shit dunno, just helping out.
I noticed Kevin actually shows some limb independance! That part with the double bass, notice how Kevin keeps a rythem other than a strait quarter notes. That's something that the average "hobby" drummer never gets. That's something that most drummers never show. So I just gotta give props to Kevin on this one. Good job man!
Fuckin right! Kevin all the way bitches
This just proves how much more of a man Kevin is!!!
is there any way i can download this?
Kevin did really well. Raymond still won though.
I thought this was a joke, but KP actually did really well. Good job.
Kevin is fucking awesome!!!
KP beat the drums to their drummy pulp! Awesome!
Kev ripped it up.. impressive.. loved the freak out on the second time..
kevin was awsome i wish he would teach me how to play like that!!!!!!!!!!!
I've seriously watched this video 20 times. I love it.
Kevin's a great drummer to watch, just because you can tell he enjoys what he's doing. Raymond has that sort of "OK, I'm going to bang drums now" look.
ya i do admit it was a cool drum off.
^I agree. It RAWKED.
I think Kevin came out on top, honestly, if nothing else but for showmanship.
p.s.s. imo i thought kevin beat down herrera. all the chuckling brought RH's score down.
Best. Segment. Ever.
give props to kevin for playing against a pro drummer on HIS OWN show knowing hed be shown up.
p.s. regis philbin cant do that
Was I the only one that thought Kevin won? I mean Herreras was great, and probably took more skill too pull off technically, but those last two's of Kevin's were actually really great to listen to. Quite groovy.
very impressed by kevin
Well I think Kevin riped up.He keep up the Herrera i think so anyway.
I was surprised how well KP kept up with Herrera. Although he still owned KP. LOL.
I love how Kevin freaked out at the end of his session.
