What's better than ice-cream and rootbeer? Ice-cream and real beer!  We've mixed some frozen milk and a multitude of beers to find the best tasting ice-cream float.  Try our selections, or post your own concoctions.

Light Beer Category

Generic Light Beer

Joshua - Mild, surprisingly tasty

Brendan - Sweet, a little bland

Casey - Beer itself, pretty gross.  Beer with ice cream, not bad.

Medium Beer Category

Bock

Joshua - bad aftertaste, doesn't mix well

Brendan - Harsh, like drinking puke

Casey - Bock is good, but bock with ice cream is confusing and scary.

Pale Ale

Joshua - Kills bitterness, doesn't blend well.  Sweeter than bock.

Brendan - OK.  Doesn't mix well.  Still tastes like ice cream and beer.

Casey - Similar to the light, but not quite as cost-effective.

Amber
Joshua - Great, slightly malty aftertaste.
Brendan - Sweet with full body and great aftertaste.
Casey - This beer itself is naturally creamy.  The ice cream accentuates nicely.  A bit rich, but I wouldn't mind having this as a dessert.

Exotic Beer Category

Raspberry Wheat

Joshua- -delicious, smooth, clean aftertaste

Brendan - I can drink this all day.  Doesn't taste like beer at all ... more like a sherbet.

Casey - Tastes the most like a dessert.  Raspberry comes through, but isn't overpowering.  I thought this would be gross, but it's not bad at all.  Still like the Amber better, though.

Peach Belgian Ale

Joshua - Scrumptious mélange of peach and ale.  Excellent.
Brendan - Amazing.  Like a Sunday brunch in the Garden of Eden.  Great fruit aftertaste.

Casey - Way too sweet.  If you got this at a bar, it would come with three umbrellas and an official Certificate of Emasculation.

Black Currant Wheat

Joshua - Scary.  Do not drink.  Almost curdled.

Brendan - Gag me.  Bitter and horrible.  It's trying to make me sick.

Casey - Have you ever heard of black currant and ice cream as a dessert?  There's a reason why.

Dark Beer Category

Stout

Joshua - Very smooth.  Standard stout bite without the strong beer flavor.

Brendan - The classic float.  A beer drinker's float.  Treat yourself to some chocolately goodness.

Casey - I'm not a big fan of this stout, but this is pretty good.  Nothing remarkable, but pretty tasty.

Double Chocolate Stout

Joshua - Tastes like cream and beer.  Not a good blend.  Both flavors are too present.

Brendan - Too refined.  Good, but not something you can't get enough of.  Like a bitter chocolate.

Casey - I actually like this one.  You could drink this and think you had a chocolate milkshake.  A great trick to play on your younger siblings.

Porter

Joshua - -Not a good mix. Imagine what ashes in beer would taste like, then add cream.

Brendan -Sweet after initial kick, but the aftertaste makes you want to wring your mouth out.

Casey - Not as bitter as the stout or as sweet as the chocolate stout.  Very creamy and not bad, but why would you mess with a good porter?
