The Avengers 2 Could Have A Release Date

The sequel to Marvel's $1.5 billion-grossing powerhouse mega-franchise, The Avengers might just have a date set.

According to insiders speaking to MTV News, May 1, 2015 could be the magic date that the team once again assembles to combat...whatever gigantic threat, possibly of cosmic proportions that could be in store for Earth in the Marvel movieverse.

While director, Joss Whedon is set to return, the dance cards for each member of the team are pretty much set with Iron Man 3 (May 3, 2013), Thor: The Dark World (November 8, 2013), and Captain America: The Winter Soldier (April 4, 2014), each of which will likely have cameos from other members like Samuel L. Jackson's Nick Fury, Jeremy Renner's Hawkeye, and Scarlett Johansson's Black Widow. A three-year-window from this past May's first film would be reasonable and realistic considering all of that.

Marvel apparently has it all worked out, but how?

The Sound Of Bane

The Sound Of Bane

Notable numbers like "How Do You Solve A Problem Like Batman?," "These Are A Few Of My Favorite Reckonings," and "Climb Every Prison Wall" helped Bane's new musical relax Gotham's ears as they faced annihilation at his hands.

You all have his permission to die...trying to get to the nearest limited-engagement performance as quick as possible.

The Benefit Of Winning A Silver Medal

...And after the werewolves eat the gold medal winner and run off in terror from your badass silver, you, by default, are the new gold medal winner!

Who ever said that being second place just makes you the first loser? Probably someone who's never been attacked by werewolves.

Warning: Some spoilerish stuff.

At this point, one's first reaction to a parody of Carly Rae Jepsen's "Call Me Maybe" is something along the lines of "really? again?!"

However, this one focusing on the show-stealing character of The Dark Knight Rises, Joseph Gordon-Levitt's Blake deserves its place among the best of the ever-growing "Call Me Maybe" genre.

The nosy, idealistic cop leads you on a Gotham-tastic musical number as he tries (as he does in the film) to get Bruce Wayne off his lazy, creepy shut-in ass and fight some bad guys, already.

It's Okay Since Bane Says It's Okay

Worry not if the prices at this store are your wallet's reckoning.

Sure, high prices for stuff you could get online for way less are powerful agents to the uninitiated, but according to Bane, who IS initiated, it's okay to lift your disposable income and break it over your knee because of an ancient philosophy taught to him in the League of Shadows called "YOLO."

If this epic stop-motion fan-film proves anything, it's that ridiculously-expensive Hot Toys action figures, a video camera, and some ingenuity can make one hell of a Batman story...in which he turns out to be a cyborg with cannons on his hands.

Filmmakers, Derek Kwok and Henri Wong do an amazing job capturing the action in this dream-like tribute to Christopher Nolan's Batman films, even including a nod to the groundbreaking 1989 Tim Burton rendition that dances with the devil in the pale moonlight.

Batman Breaks Out The Batplow!

Batman Breaks Out The Batplow!

In the nonexistent fourth Batman film, The Dark Knight Rices, Lucius Fox tenders his resignation from Wayne Enterprises, leaving Batman's crime-fighting gadgets to take a bit of a tumble in the departments of "coolness" and "effectiveness."

Although, in keeping with consistency, this vehicle he's pushing is also "not a car."

Eat Batman's Justice

These aren't just ordinary PEZ dispensers. One flick to pull back Batman's head and out shoots a sugary chewable candy pill of JUSTICE that sends the criminal scum of your city running in fear.

For only $1.08, you have no excuse to buy the candy machine that your cavities deserves.

Thor Sequel Gets Former Doctor Who As Villain

Could it be that the upcoming sequel, Thor: The Dark World may be getting a former Gallifreyan guide of time and space?

According to The Hollywood Reporter, Christopher Eccleston, otherwise known as The Ninth Doctor is in final talks to play a key villain named Malekith The Accursed in the Asgardian Avenger's next solo film.

Having recently played iconic villain, Destro in G.I. Joe: The Rise of Cobra, Eccleston will now up his game playing Malekith, ruler of Svartalfheim, one of the nine realms mentioned in Thor, which is inhabited by a race of dark elves.

What will he bring to a film that's looking to be a dogfight of deities?

When we first saw the teaser trailer for The Dark Knight Rises late last year, the issue of the muzzled musings of villain, Bane was a major point of contention among fans, who found him difficult to comprehend.

However, by the time the film hit theaters, it was, for the most part, a non-issue due to some redubbing of the character's voice, which made things more clear.

Now, we have proof that the homicidal hard-breather who claims to be born in darkness had some proverbial light shined upon his dialogue.
