Nicolas Cage Confirmed For Ghost Rider 2

Nicolas Cage has revealed that his upcoming return to comic book movies in Ghost Rider: Spirit of Vengeance will actually not be considered a sequel to his effort in 2007's Ghost Rider. (Wait...wha?) A junket interview with Collider to promote this weekend's release of Drive Angry 3D concluded with Cage fielding a question about what audiences should expect from the (also 3D powered) 2012 Ghost Rider follow-up. Besides the typical hype about amped-up action and new shooting styles, Cage actually went out of his way to make it perfectly clear that Spirit of Vengeance is not direct sequel to the 2007 film, even revealing that an all-new origin sequence will be featured in the film about stunt biker Johnny Blaze, whose Faustian bargain turns him into a flame-skulled demon hog rider whenever evil is afoot by night. So, just to reiterate, according to Nicolas Cage, he will essentially be starring in a reboot of his own film?

Upcoming mega-sequel, The Dark Knight Rises, besides having the high-profile acquisition of Anne Hathaway as Selina Kyle aka Catwoman, will also contain one of Batman's most formidable foes in the buff, juiced-up, but cerebral Bane. Hammersmith, London's Tom Hardy, who will be tackling the role, certainly knows that the upcoming gig will be his biggest moment yet in the cinematic spotlight. In a recent interview on UK talk show Alan Carr: The Chatty Man (greatest title ever?,) Hardy sat down to discuss the big role quite candidly, revealing his expectations and how he plans to prepare.

Iron Man 3 To Be Directed By Shane Black

Iron Man 3 may seem like a lifetime away, since a barrage of other Avengers-related films will hit us before it, but it seems that it's nevertheless about to lock-down a director. Replacing the departed Jon Favreau in the franchise, will be Shane Black. The man's name may only have one directorial credit, but his name is attached to writing credits for some of the most famous testosterone-laden explosion-fest action films from the 80's and 90's like Lethal Weapon 1-4, The Last Boy Scout, and Schwarzenegger's (IMO underrated) effort The Last Action Hero. Black would eventually make his directorial debut in 2005's cult fave, Kiss Kiss Bang Bang in which he worked with (not coincidentally,) Iron Man star Robert Downey Jr. After taking a hiatus from the industry and not having directed a film, since, Black will make a return in a big way when he takes the helm of one of the most popular comic book film franchises ever. Is it a good pick?

Alice Eve In League For Men In Black III

Already long in production, it has been revealed that Men in Black III will now be joined by Alice Eve. While reports of minor delays to the film, due to script issues may have worried fans, the casting process seems to be chugging along just fine, as evidenced by this acquisition. After a breakthrough starring role in last year's She's Out of My League, the voluptuous English beauty, Eve has been a highly sought-after property, rumored for comic book movie roles and having plenty of big films locked-up for 2011. However, her role in the upcoming, nearly decade-in-the-making third Men in Black film will have her taking on a much different kind of role: Leader of the MIB operation. -- Well, sort of.

Adrianne Palicki Is Wonder Woman: Will It Work?

The new Wonder Woman has been named. Landing what is perhaps the most coveted female role on television, actress Adrianne Palicki will now play the Amazonian superheroine who will also cavort as successful corporate executive Diana Prince. The 27 year-old beauty is known for roles on Friday Night Lights, last year's Legion, and as Sam's martyred girlfriend on Supernatural. However, she was sidetracked last Fall off a potential star-making role on Fox's Lone Star after the unceremonious cancellation of the highly-acclaimed show. She's also no stranger to comic book properties, having appeared on Smallville and its spun-off 2007 Aquaman TV movie. Palicki will now follow in the iconic onesie established by Lynda Carter in the 1975-1979 decade-defining live action series. Will she be up for the task on the new NBC series?

Wouldn't it be great to date a comic book hottie, to finally be able to go out with a flesh and blood version of the ink and paper super babes you've been pining over since your adolescent years? Sure it would, unless you picked the wrong one. Not every babe in a cape and cowl would make a good girlfriend. Quite the contrary. Some of them would make outright rotten love interests. In honor of Valentine's Day, a day dedicated to true love and romantic union, we've come up with a list of the top five female comic book characters you should never date (presuming you got the chance through some miracle of science or more likely, the bestowal of a magical ring or other mystical artifact).
Crack The Spine: The Top 5 Female Comic Book Characters You Should Never Date
Power Girl
This buxom super heroine is every nerd's dream, but for all practical purposes she'll have to remain just that. Being Superman's cousin, Power Girl's essentially the busty, female equivalent of the Man of Steel. So, unless you've got the stamina of The Flash and the muscle mass of a juiced up Bane (or a bed sprinkled with flakes of Kryptonite), there's no hope of satisfying her in the sack or even surviving a sexual encounter without ending up in a hospital bed. It really makes you wonder how Lois Lane continues to have nuptials with Clark Kent.

Crack The Spine: The Top 5 Female Comic Book Characters You Should Never DateEmma Frost
The last thing you want in a healthy relationship is a controlling partner. As such, the one time White Queen of the Hellfire Club turned X-Man, Emma Frost is high up on the no-date list. The sultry telepath has a lengthy track record of using her mutant powers to manipulate or literally control her enemies, allies and even lovers. Furthermore, if you're the jealous type, you'd eventually tire of seeing Ms. Frost parade around in attire that would make a fem dom blush.

Crack The Spine: The Top 5 Female Comic Book Characters You Should Never DateBomb Queen
She's great for a one night stand, but this libidinous magister of the explosive arts has a very fragile psyche and an incredible temper. What she lacks in clothing she makes up for in pure, psychotic rage. The moment you made her unhappy, she'd blow you to pieces, and not in a way you're hoping.
