WrestleMania XXVII Recap/Review

For those of you who are even the remotest wrestling fans, but have never gotten the opportunity to attend WrestleMania, it's an experience that transcends your expectations of what a wrestling show can be. Over the weekend, I was lucky enough to be in Atlanta, where I got the chance to go to WrestleMania Axxcess, the Hall of Fame ceremony, and the granddaddy of them all, Wrestlemania XXVII. All week, there will be photos, impressions, and interviews from the events, but, in case you missed it, here's a fan's-eye view of WrestleMania.

Warning: There be spoilers ahead!

The Typescreen for Old School iPad Typing

If your'e one of those smelly old people who prefer to use the classic typewriter and hate newfangled gadgets like touch screens and table PCs, buy the Typescreen. Alright, we know this is an April Fools joke but a little tiny part of me wishes this was real. I miss the clickety-clack sounds of an old typewriter.

Daniel Reese Designs Custom Attack Of The Show Sneakers

Last month, we profiled shoe designer Daniel Reese in Sneakerheads and the moccasin maestro was so touched that he designed a custom pair of Nike High-top Dunks with an Attack of the Show motif. Unfortunately, you may never be able to get your hands on a pair (and that's too bad, because they make you run faster, jump higher, and shoot better), but you can admire the concept AOTS sneaker design here on AOTB for the rest of time.

Justice League Movie On Tap At Warner?

Could a Justice League mega movie be in the works over at Warner Bros.?

A long-popular pipe-dream of a project may have finally arrived in the realm of possibility, due to an impending transition of power at the top of the studio executive branch. The soon-retiring Alan Horn will be handing the magic power of "the greenlight" to the younger Jeff Robinov.

Assuming the top mantle amidst an industry that's witnessing declining box-office ticket and DVD sales, due to the growth of the Internet radically alter consumer behavior, Robinov's vision for the studio is calling for anything but subtle, art house flicks. Rather, he's ready to get behind the massive momentum that's currently in effect for superhero movie properties. For Warner Bros. and its fellow Time Warner subsidiary, DC Comics, the "big one" is undoubtedly The Justice League.

So, how did this speculation come about?

Discussion: Could Tweeting Lead To A Federal Offense?

Can the wrong kind of tweeting end up becoming a federal offense? Possibly.

Jill Maremont was a Marketing Director for the Susan Fredman Design Group in Chicago. Design updates and promoting her product in general greatly involved the now-ubiquitous act of tweeting. Unfortunately, her career got put on hold for about nine months when she was hit by a car, suffering brain injury.

Yet, despite her being sidelined and disconnected from the Internet and all that stuff, her Twitter account remained oddly active for some reason.

Bootleg Toys Are Funny

Bootleg Toys Are Funny

Knockoff toys are serious business in parts of the world where intellectual property rights are as meaningless to manufacturers as proper English grammar and relevant context.

With that said, I bring to your attention Cracked's list of The 15 Most Unintentionally Hilarious Bootleg Toys.

The contenders range from a poorly-translated Superman Returns cash-in featuring the Man of Steel riding a dinosaur, to a Transformer who changes into (tastefully enough,) the Titanic.

However, the list topper is the one seen above, none other than the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles' unmistakable, iconic -- "Gun." Either this was a pathetic attempt to slap a label on a completely unrelated item, or there's a fifth Turtle that's finally taking the practical approach.

The Hobbit Has Begun Filming

It's official from Wellington, New Zealand: The Hobbit has finally begun filming. What has to be considered a moment of victory to legions of Lord of the Rings fans, who have patiently waited nearly a decade as the production endured one ridiculous dilatory crucible after another, the announcement probably also serves as a relief that fate didn't find other creative ways to intervene. Just one look at the above picture of director Peter Jackson walking through the circular portal to Bilbo's subterranean abode, Bag End pretty much makes it all clear: We're going back in Middle Earth, folks! Check below for the other historic brand new pic of Jackson in the Bag End set and a (possible) hint about the film's story.

The Wolverine Loses Director Darren Aronofsky

Fans who were excited for a possibly darker, more cerebral version of Marvel's claw-crazed mutant wildman with Darren Aronofsky in the director's chair are in for a bit of bad news: Aronofsky has dropped out as director of The Wolverine. Just as shooting for the film was imminent and an ultra-enthusiastic Hugh Jackman has reportedly spent the last few months getting even more ridiculously buff than he's ever been, the ship that is the "sort-of-sequel" to 2009 X-Men Origins: Wolverine now finds itself without a Captain. So, what could have possibly made Darren Aronofsky abruptly abandon this film, which in the past, he has commented on being excited to make? Apparently, it's the dreaded "d" word. Check below to see which one.
