Fallout 3 was one of the best games of 2008. That year, a great many staffers spent more time roaming the Capital Wasteland than they did sleeping or working. So, you can imagine how excited they all were when someone rolled a giant Fallout 3 statue into the lobby. Over time, the statue of a Brotherhood of Steel Knight became a fixture around the office, a welcoming totem to visitors, and the star of a sketch or two, like the hilarious Fallout Fall Fashion Show. Favorite Season: Fall, but I miss all of the seasons because Los Angeles doesn’t really have seasons. (No, I’m not complaining about the weather in LA, I’m just saying…) Also, my favorite seasoning is sea salt.
Least Favorite Nickname: I’m not going to answer this question. Instead, I’ll tell you some nicknames that I’m ok with: B, Nardo, and Bern.
What do you do on AOTS?
I tell a bunch of punny jokes. Some might call them bad jokes, but I call them really punny jokes. I do do actual work too. (Read that last sentence out loud….. poop joke!) Basically, I keep the show in line. I plan out the show rundowns and time the shows to make sure we have the right amount of awesome stuff everyday. In the mornings, I work with the producers and studio crew to make sure everyone is on the same page and that the rundown is up to date and correct. When we’re live, I time the show to make sure it ends on time. Since we really are live, anything can really happen and often does. If an ATN bit goes longer than expected, I have to adjust the rundown to account for that time. If Kevin and Candace start talking about something random and Kevin says, “Let’s see if we can get one of those by the end of the show…” I need to make time for whatever that is at the end of the show.
Portal technology, the kind you've used with wild abandon in games like Portal 2, is not to be toyed with. It's a dangerous science that has potentially severe repercussions, as we all saw on today's AOTS. If you, or someone you know, has thought about buying a Portal gun on the black market and using it to get some cheap thrills, let these pics of Kevin Pereira and Candace Bailey playing around with an imitation Portal gun be a warning to you. Don't do it!
Horror fans have been waiting a long time for the return of the Ghostface Killer to the silver screen, almost as long as we've been waiting to get Friday Night Lights and Scream 4 star Aimee Teegarden on AOTS. Both have finally happened and we feel supremely satisfied. What's more, there are some great Aimee Teegarden pictures on Attack of the Blog as a byproduct. Things are really going our way!
Do you remember the old G4 commercials starring the butt-beaming robot and tech-vomiting unicorn? It's been a while since the spots have aired, but the robot and unicorn are still hanging around the G4 offices. The plastic maquettes now reside in the cubicle where Associate Producer of 2.0, Courtney Kraft hosts the live, daily, web show, G4 Interactive (8PM ET). They may no longer have a prominent place in the spotlight, but they do serve as a perpetual reminder of how cool G4 is. Is there anything more exciting than a show about hardened criminals chasing down escaped convicts?
