Vikings and comic book nerds rejoice today, because Marvel Studios' Thor finally hits movie theaters, bringing hammer time to the masses. I swear that's the only hammer time joke I'll make in this article. I can only imagine that during the production of this movie, executives met at some point and batted around the idea to license MC Hammer's "U Can't Touch This" and put some sort of funky techno version over the end credits. Thankfully, that didn't happen.
Complete details on the upcoming Blu-ray release of Star Wars: The Complete Saga have been revealed.
Lucasfilm has been hyping a big announcement to go with this Star Wars Day, building-up the drama with a countdown clock on starwars.com. -- Then it went to zero, and as if someone forgot to push a button in a secret hatch on an island somewhere, the gateway to the announcement crashed, due to demand. (It's back up, now.)
While some of the more imaginative fans had ambitious visions of game-changing news, most everyone else had pretty much accepted the idea that this would just be the Blu-ray info.
So, let's take a look at what we have in store for the September 16 debut of the Star Wars sextet in 1080p.
Rumor has it that Samuel L. Jackson isn't having a good time on the set of The Avengers: his copy of the script has been stolen and now the thieves are trying to sell the pages to film bloggers. Movie Web reports that so far,
No one has ponied up the cash just yet, and as news of this illegal sales opportunity spreads, it's sure to mean trouble for whoever finds it in his or her possession next. The script draft is from April 8th of this year, with the title Group Hug (the production title of the movie). The script is 129 pages long, and water marked with both Samuel L. Jackson's name and the Marvel seal of approval.
If you don't care about spoilers, you can check out a second page of the supposed script here but I want to know if anyone would even pay to read the script. Would you jump at the opportunity to read the entire plot of The Avengers or watch it unfold on the big screen?
Hometown: The small town of Snohomish, WA.
Position: Production Assistant
Favorite Season: My favorite season is the beginning of fall, because it’s still sunny outside and all the best TV shows start back up again.
Least Favorite Nickname: A former intern gave me the nickname “Seanald” once upon a time and I can’t stand it, haha.
What do you do on AOTS?
My favorite question from any producer is, “Are you busy right now,” because as a PA, I am always busy. I’m constantly running around doing something, whether it’s feeding the hosts, being in ATN comedy bits, grabbing videos from the web, directing interns, shooting video for segments or writing the occasional Attack This script from time to time.
What is your favorite moment from the show?
I always crack up when the show goes off the tracks. As one of the few live television shows left, AOTS really shines when it messes up. When we accidentally aired Masterpiece Theatre at the beginning of the show or when we flashed a quick second of Vin Diesel holding a shot gun in the middle of an ATN comedy. I think that’s pure hilarity!
Sick of all the Royal Wedding coverage yet? Don't worry because this Royal Wedding Sick Bag has you covered for any potential vomit-inducing moments about love, marriage and rich British people. Sorry Will and Kate. We wish you the best.
It seems that Captain America could soon be sporting a new costume.
The big-screen return of Marvel's super-powered patriot in Captain America: The First Avenger still won't be in theaters until July 22. However, star, Chris Evans has confirmed that his second go-round as the character in 2012's The Avengers will have Cap in some new duds when he teams up with some of Marvel's best.
Apprehensive at first about his costume in First Avenger in fear of "looking silly," Evans eventually got comfortable to the point that he enjoyed working with it. But, as turns out, that costume was only a one-time deal.
It appears that Arnold Schwarzenegger will indeed "be back" in the upcoming new Terminator film, making good on the promise entailed by his famous catchphrase.
Validating rumors from a few months back, a package for the rights to produce the latest installment in the time-traveling cyborg saga is being shopped around to studios. Attached to that deal, is Schwarzenegger and director Justin Lin.
While the process is still in the early stages, with no screenwriter attached, it is the first confirmed movement regarding the revival of The Terminator in quite some time. However, even taken with the confirmation of "Ahnuld's" return, speculation on the nature of the film's status as a sequel or reboot could be in question, given the performance of the last entry.
Where will this series get taken?
