If Dr. Seuss Wrote Star Wars

Posted March 2, 2012 - By Moye Ishimoto

If Dr. Seuss Wrote Star Wars

Can you imagine if Dr. Seuss wrote Star Wars as one of his famous picture books? We probably would be rhyming a lot more at our nerd conventions. Check out the other illustrations by cartoonist Adam Watson!

The Hobbit director, Peter Jackson continues to update fans on the status of the two-part epic with the sixth production video diary.

This time, as they begin shooting for the second film, the operation moves to stunning and majestic New Zealand mountains and waterfalls, as scenes that will ring quite familiar to fans who read the book come to life in spectacular fashion.

The real story, however, is the massive scale of the production itself and everything that's involved with the crew to physically move it from one place to another. Just about everything that civilization requires like food, shelter, and Internet are impressively hauled repeatedly to some of the most remote places conceivable.

Matthew Vaughn Set To Tackle Bloodshot

Matthew Vaughn, director of X-Men: First Class and Kick-Ass will once again jump into the world of comic book adaptations, this time with a title from 90's comic giants, Valiant Comics in Bloodshot.

According to Deadline, Sony Pictures has acquired Vaughn for the film on the heels of a script by Jeff Wadlow (Prey, Cry_Wolf), who is apparently getting a $450K payday against a cool million.

What exactly would Bloodshot bring to an already crowded field of comic book films?

What used to be just a fun activity book for kids now becomes an epic film about one man's struggle to contain the violent demons within himself. Unfortunately for the bad guys, he's losing that struggle.

Now, the man in red pinstripes will be looking to put evil in black pinstripes...or a pine box. Either way.

The Avengers New Poster & Title Change In UK

As the impending release of The Avengers, the most surreal comic book movie project of all time looms ever so close, it appears that the film has just received not only a cool new group poster, but a title change in the United Kingdom.

Wishing to avoid confusion with those "other Avengers" from the famous 1960's UK TV show with agents, John Steed and the iconic, sexy, skin-tight-black-suited Emma Peel, Marvel has changed the film's title in the UK to Marvel Avengers Assemble.

So, while the film prepares an international invasion with a title that sounds like a Japanese game show, check out this stunning new group poster in its full glory just below!

Deadpool Movie: Ryan Reynolds Gives An Update

It appears that the long-teased Deadpool movie is still on the table. At least, that's how it seems according to its would-be star, Ryan Reynolds, who recently gave the first real update in 2012 on the highly-anticipated project.

As of now, the film is still pretty much where it was a year ago: With an allegedly good script by Zombieland scribes, Rhett Reese and Paul Wernick, newcomer director, Tim Miller waiting in the wings, original character creator, Rob Liefeld foaming at the mouth to get it made, and 20th Century Fox still lallygagging about how they want to approach it.

Reynolds, however, was pretty clear about his own expectations for the solo debut of Marvel's wisecracking, malicious Merc with a Mouth: First and foremost, it needs to be R-rated.

Find out below what the actor has to say on Deadpool and his thoughts on a prospective Green Lantern sequel.

Iron Giant Hipster

Iron Giant Hipster

The original novel that inspired 1999's animated "a boy and his robot" epic, The Iron Giant actually came out back in 1968; way before a more famous brand of anthropomorphic automatons came on the scene.

He therefore tends to scoff at any of the Transformers for making giant robots "too mainstream."

Message In A Bottle Scam

Message In A Bottle Scam

This is the oldest scam in the book. You read some message about a Nigerian Prince (or something to that effect) who wants access to your private info, the next thing you know, all of the coconuts on your tree are gone!

Speaking as the proud purchaser of the Brooklyn Bridge for only $5,000, I say screw that.
