Far Cry 2 is coming in a big way. The game looks great and looks to bring back the open-world freedom of the original game, but should be set in a more realistic world.

Ubisoft Montreal is hoping to release this title on the PlayStation 3, Xbox 360, and PC this October.

Star Wars: The Force Unleashed looks like it's going to be one of the best games of the year and certainly one of the best Star Wars games to ever hit consoles and we have the hard working developers at Lucas Arts to thank for it.

Want to know what's going to make this a game to rival even KOTOR and KOTOR II? Hear from the developers themselves; they've got plenty to say.

Take-Two dropped word on what will surely be a blockbuster game. If you're not excited about Borderlands, trust us, you will be before too long.

The sci-fi RPG/shooter from Gearbox features co-op with vehicles, a Fallout meets Halo look, and a gun customization system that is like nothing we have seen before. There is basically an endless number of weapons. Each boomstick has a randomizsed set of "stats," primary and secondary effects, so every one you find is different from every other.

Here's what else we know:

  * Two character classes have been revealed: "Hunter" and "Soldier."

  * Co-op, with vehicles.

  *  Set on planet Pandora, a wasteland filled with horrible beasts and enemies.

  *  Lots of gore. this is sure to be rated "M".

look for it in 2009 for the 360, PC and PS3.

We just got back from Take-Two Interactive's press event at this year's E3, and, as you'd expect, we brought all the news you could possibly want. Overall, it was pretty heavy on the video montages.

In our opinion, there has never been a great Spider-Man game. There have been some good one (and some lousy ones) but never a great one. Perhaps all that will change when Activision's Spider-Man Web of Shadows comes out.

According to Activision, Web of Shadows is combat heavy, with ground and air based fighting as well as web-slinging. The game is not based on a specific film or other work, so the game's developers had free reign to create a Spidey story that's videogame-centric. Speaking of story, Web of Shadow's plot details an invasion of Manhattan by symbiote, who infect people, ruin landscapes and generally ooze black all over the city.

Another cool feature: Suit-switching! The game allows for a switch from classic red spidey-suit to the new, sleek black. With great suits comes great powers: Each outfit changes Spiderman's strengths and weaknesses.

Web of Shadows will also feature several other Marvel characters, both heroes and villains, although who made the cut hasn't been announced. It comes out across platforms this fall.

At their press event last night, videogame-makers Activision announced Quantum of Solace, a videogame version of the upcoming James Bond movie of the same name.

With a release times to conicide with the release of the film, Quantum features a hybrid 1st person and 3rd person camera system--first-person for shooting, third-person for hand-to-hand combat. The game uses the Call of Duty 4 engine, and is planned for release across platforms on November 6th.

Activision announced Marvel Ultimate Alliance 2: Fusion yesterday during their "unofficially E3" conference. Like its predecessor that was released in 2006, dozens of Marvel characters will unite once again to thwart off evil this time in the region of Latvia. Familiar super heroes will return such as Wolverine, Captain America and Storm which was shown in the trailer.

This sequel features a new "fusion" technique that allows your two of your favorite Marvel icons to combine powers. Marvel Ultimate Alliance 2: Fusion is due out March 2009 across all platforms. We'll give you more details on this action/rpg follow-up as soon as we get them.

At their press event last night, Activision dropped a lot of exciting info on the next Call of Duty game. Call of Duty: World at War is shooter set in World War II being developed by Treyarch. Here's what was revealed last night:

  * 24 Actor Kiefer Sutherland will star in the game.

  * While we knew part of the game would be set in the Pacific Islands, we didn't know the Russians would play a part as well. Players will be members of the Red Army for part of the game and fend off Hitler's terrible panzer-blitz and capturing Berlin.

   * World at War will feature cooperative play with four players online, or two players on a single screen. Co-op will keep track of individuals kills so you can compete while you co-operate, like Halo 3.

Call of Duty: World at War comes out across platforms this fall.
